teenage girl,

the model for madness –

knowing of things, i never would’ve known.

painting pictures,

writing poems that leave me in the dust.

these abstractions you create,

are safe for you.

why can’t you just say it?

why can’t you just tell me!

i can hear you screaming –

but can’t make out the words.

i’m tired of analyzing – playing safe games.

but these puzzles…attract me.

i envy you. i pity you.

and i don’t want you to turn ‘normal.’

trust me –

we’ll make us better people.
