A YOUTH’S VENGEANCE

SERIES FINALE

EPISODE 21: HAPPILY EVER AFTER

--

“Glenn, calm down.” Lana says, walking in Glenn’s mansion, closing the door behind her.

“I can’t calm down, Lana! I’m gonna die!”

“No, you’re not. We just have to wait until Erin comes back with good news. Until then, as long as we’re together, nothing can happen to us.” Lana says.

Glenn has been going completely hysteric ever since he got back from Martin’s house. He’s scared of what can happen to him, and it definitely shows. Lana walks to Glenn and hugs, calming him down. She then looks at him in his eyes.

“Everything’s going to be okay. He can’t get to us if we don’t let him.”

Lana and Glenn share a passionate kiss afterwards. Glenn looks at Lana and smiles.

“This whole thing has been stressful, and I need to blow off some steam, so…”

Lana rolls her eyes. “Leave it to you to ruin a good moment.” Glenn sighs. “Besides, I want to check up on Alvin to make sure he got home okay.”

Glenn sits down and stretches out on his couch. “Be my guess.”

“Thanks, but I didn’t think I needed your permission.” Lana jokes. She dials a number on her cell phone and puts it to her ear.

--

Meanwhile, in a house covered in blood, a cell phone rings, but no answer… Someone walks to one of the three bodies, the one with the phone, and steps on it, shattering it to tiny pieces.

--

Lana looks confused. Worried, she hangs up her phone and puts it back in her pocket. Glenn looks concerned as well.

“What’s wrong?” He asks.

“I don’t know… The phone just… Cut off.” She answers. “I don’t like this.”

Glenn gets up from the couch and walks to Lana. “What do you think happened?” He asks. Lana looks at Glenn, raising her eyebrows. “Oh…” He says.

“C’mon, let’s go.” Lana says. She grabs her coat as she and Glenn head out the door.

--

Glenn and Lana drive over to Alvin’s house. The lights are on and his parents car are parked in the driveway, so someone is definitely home. Glenn parks his car on the side of the road. He and Lana exit the car and walk to Alvin’s house. Lana walks to Alvin’s porch and knocks on his door. No one answers.

“Alvin! It’s us, Lana and Glenn. Are you home?”

No one answers.

“Yo! Open up, man!” Glenn yells.

Once again, no answer.

“We gotta go in there.” Lana says. Glenn looks uneasy. Lana steps aside. Glenn walks to the door and kicks it open. The two of them cautiously walk in the house.

--

“Alvin!” Lana yells, carefully entering the house with Glenn behind her. She covers her mouth and gasps in disgust. “Oh God.”

“Damn…” Glenn says, disgusted as well.

There’s blood everywhere, like the whole house was flooded by a sea of blood. A tear drops from Lana’s face. She hugs Glenn and bursts into tears. Glenn comforts her by rubbing her back. The door quickly shuts behind them before they could leave. Lana screams in shock. The two of them attempt to open the door by banging on it.

“Fuck!” Glenn yells in frustration.

Suddenly, loud, banging, foots are heard coming down the stairs, petrifying Lana and Glenn. The person, no other than Kenny Roseburg, stare at the two teens with joy, knowing that he’s about to kill them. Lana and Glenn back into the wall until they accidentally trap themselves.

“Lana.” Kenny says, smiling evilly at her.

“Go to hell.” She shoots back in disgust.

“Don’t worry, we’ll be there shortly.”

Lana walks to Kenny in anger, Glenn’s eyes perk up. He attempts to interfere, but decides not to.

“What is wrong with you!? What happened to the nice Kenny, the Kenny that wouldn’t hurt anyone!”

“You killed him.”

Lana looks at Kenny in shock. He grabs her and she screams. “Lana!” Glenn yells. Glenn runs to Lana and pushes Kenny off her. Kenny falls completely on the floor as Lana stand behind Glenn. Kenny gets up and wipes the blood from his mouth. He looks at Glenn and laughs.

“Glenn Lacy, what a surprise. What are you doing here? You have nothing to do with this.”

“I do now.”

Kenny smirks. He begins backing up, smiling at the couple evilly. He’s planning something, and it definitely shows. Suddenly, Kenny gets down on the floor on all fours, like a dog.

Lana and Glenn look at him in disgust, grossed out by him. Kenny begins to mutate into something…inhuman. His skin turns into black, slimy skin. His clothes begin to rip as he begins to grow larger and larger, larger than any animal on this earth.

He grows a fat belly and a dangerously long, spiky tail. Lana and Glenn gasp in shock as Kenny’s face turns into that of a horrifying demon, more horrifying than Solomon, or anything else. He has cat-eyes and a wide mouth filled with sharp teeth.

“Oh my God…” Lana says. “Kenny… He’s… He’s one of them!”

Kenny is identical to same demons that attacked the group in the prison, only larger, scarier, and deadlier. Lana and Glenn quickly begin banging on the door, trying very hard to get out.

Both of them are screaming at the top of their lungs, especially Lana. Kenny kicks the ground with his back feet and charges into Lana. He grabs her with his mouth and busts out the house with her in it.

“LANA!” Glenn yells.

Glenn runs out the house as fast as he can. He attempts to run after Kenny and Lana, but he’s too slow. It isn’t before long before Kenny is completely out of sight, leaving a slight blood trail. Glenn falls on the ground in despair.

“LANA!!!” He yells.

--

Meanwhile, Erin returns home after leaving Martin’s house. She parks her car beside her small, isolated, wooden house surrounded by the dark woods. She gets out of her car and walks inside her house.

--

Erin walks in her room. She turns on the light and takes off her jacket, laying it on the bed. She sighs.

“What a long day.” She says.

Suddenly, the door slams behind her. Erin turns around, confused. She gasps. Solomon is standing by the door.

“Oh my God…”

“Hello, I don’t think we’ve met, I’m Solomon, what’s your name?” He asks.

“I know who you are, freak.” She says, slowing backing towards the broomstick.

“I’ve been watching all of Kenny’s friends, and I’ve noticed you meddling in our affairs. Why is that?” Solomon asks. The further Erin backs up, the closer Solomon gets to her.

“So I can make sure crazy fucks like you two don’t hurt anyone else.”

“Really?”

“Really.”

Erin finally has her hands on the broomstick. She takes the broom and charges into Solomon. She slams the broom on his head countless times and sprints out the room.

--

Erin runs out the house as fast she can. She gets in her car and speeds down the road. She’s breathing heavily, relieved that she got out safely. Suddenly, a dark figure appears in her backseat. Erin gasps. The figure, Solomon, somehow appeared in her car! She tries to get out, but Solomon’s long claws rips through Erin’s seat and pierces her. Blood comes gushing out of Erin’s mouth. Unable to control her car, Erin’s car goes wild and suddenly crashes into a tree.

--

Martin is sitting on his couch watching television in his living room. He suddenly hears a loud bang on his door. He gets up and cautiously opens his door. Glenn rushes in the house. Confused, Martin closes the door behind him. Glenn is panting very heavily. He looks stressed. Martin walks to him.

“What’s wrong…?” He asks.

“It…” Glenn can’t get his sentence out.

“‘It’, what?” He asks again.

“It got Lana!” Martin’s eyes widen in shock. Glenn takes a minute to catch his breath. Martin walks to Glenn.

“What do you mean, ‘it got Lana’!?”

“He changed! He was human one minute and then… He changed into something…ugly. I don’t know if it was a alien or demon, but it was something.” Glenn says.

“We gotta go. Lana could be in danger.” Martin says.

“Uh… Yeah!” Glenn replies, sarcastically.

“Let’s see Erin first. Let’s go.”

--

Meanwhile, Remy is in her room, packing her bags. She has two very large bags laid on the side of her door. She’s writing a letter to her mom, trying not to cry as she does so. Suddenly, her door opens. She turns around and gasps.

--

Martin pulls up on the side of Erin’s house. Her car is parked neatly inside her driveway, as if nothing has ever happened. Him and Glenn get out of the car and walk to Erin’s door. Before even touching the door, it opens… Martin hesitates to go inside.

“Well… Aren’t you going in?” Glenn asks impatiently.

“Oh, oh, right…” Martin says.

The two males enter the house.

--

Erin’s house is completely dark. Glenn walks to the light switch to turn the lights on, but nothing happens.

“The power’s out.” He says.

There are candles all over the house, leading a trail to upstairs. Martin follows it with his eyes.

“I’m going upstairs.” He says. He walks upstairs to Erin’s bedroom, with Glenn following him.

--

Martin and Glenn walk into Erin’s room, the only room with some sort of light. Erin’s body is laid across her bed under clean, white, sheets. Her bed is surrounded by candles, lighting tiny flames. All over her walls are stapled pictures of a church and Solomon’s past victims. Martin walks to Erin and slightly shakes her.

“Erin… Erin, wake up.” He says. Erin doesn’t respond. “Erin…” Martin sighs. “It got her. Let’s go, Glenn.” Martin turns around, but Glenn is gone. Confused, Martin cautiously walks out of Erin’s room look for Glenn, who strangely isn’t anywhere to be found.

--

Martin walks up and down the dark hallway, looking for his friend. “GLENN!” He yells out, but no answer. He sighs.

“Where is he?” He asks.

Suddenly, something appears behind him and smacks him in the back of his head, knocking him on the floor. Martin moans in pain when he hits the floor. The figure can barely be seen because it’s so dark, but whoever it is, it’s very large, and definitely not Kenny. The figure gets on top of Martin and begins choking him. Martin tries to fight back, but the creature’s way too strong. Suddenly, someone knocks the creature off Martin. Martin looks at his Savior.

“Glenn?”

“Let’s go!” He says. He pulls up Martin and the two of them run downstairs. They attempt to leave but the door suddenly shuts in their face. Solomon appears behind him. His eyes glow red.

“You won’t stop what’s already been put in motion.

Glenn begins banging on the door, panicking. Martin looks at Solomon in anger. He charges into him, causing both of them to fall on the ground.

“Martin, why are you turning against me? We could have done so much together.” Solomon asks.

“You already know why.” Martin replies in disgust.

Solomon smirks. He pushes Martin off him. He picks him up and throws him across the room. Solomon looks at Glenn, who’s still banging on the door. Frightened even more, Glenn begins banging on the door even harder. Solomon slowly walks to him, taunting him. He raises his arms to attack Glenn, but before he could do anything, he is stabbed by one of the candles he laid out. Solomon screams in pain as his whole body catches on fire. Solomon then explodes and turns into dust. Glenn bangs on the door again, breaking it. He sighs in relief. He turns to Martin.

“I did it!” He says.

“Yeah…” Martin replies. Martin looks at Solomon’s remains one last time before heading out the house with Glenn.

--

Martin is driving up the long, dark, road surrounded by trees. He has a determined look on his face. Glenn looks at him.

“Where are we going?” He asks.

“To the church.”

“…What church?” Glenn asks, confused.

“That one.”

Glenn looks ahead. There is, in fact, a church above the hill; the same church that was seen in the pictures in Erin’s house. It’s old and rusty, and looks like it could collapse at anytime.

--

Martin and Glenn walk inside the church. It looks like any other church, despite it looking old on the outside. Lana and Remy are both hanging above the altar, roped on a cross. Both girls are wearing all white.

“Lana!” Glenn yells. He runs to Lana’s cross. “Lana! Lana it’s me, Glenn! Answer me, please! Just say something! Anything…”

No response. She’s clearly dead. Noises from a female are suddenly heard, catching Martin’s and Glenn’s attention. Remy slowly begins to open her eyes. She looks around and begins to scream.

“Shhh!!!” Martin and Glenn scold. Remy gulps, silencing herself.

“How are we gonna get them down?” Glenn asks.

“I don’t know…” Martin says, trying to think of a way to rescue Remy.

“Well, think of something!” Remy scolds. Martin and Glenn look at her. “It itches…” She adds.

“Here’s what we’ll do. I’ll climb on your back and untie her.” Martin says.

“Okay…” Glenn says, not liking the plan. “Will that be enough to reach her?”

“It should.” Martin and Glenn look over at Lana’s body. The three of them are silent. Martin wipes his eyes. “Anyway, let’s hurry up and do this…” He says. He and Glenn walk to Remy’s cross. Suddenly, heavy footsteps are heard. Martin, Glenn, and Remy look above them. The Kenny demon is walking on the ceiling, swinging his long tail. Remy begins to scream.

“That’s it. That’s the thing that got Lana…” Glenn says.

Martin takes out a blade from out of his pocket. “He’s not gonna get anyone else. I’m going to make sure of that.”

“Uh, Martin…”

“Just focus on getting her down, Glenn! I’ll handle him.”

Glenn nods.

Martin walks to the middle of the church. “I killed your boss, Solomon, and now I’m gonna kill you!” Kenny-demon roars at Martin. He jumps from the ceiling and dives into Martin. Remy screams.

Glenn continues to pull her cross, trying to make it fall from the ceiling. Kenny-demon looks at Glenn and charges him into the wall, knocking him out. However, by doing that, Remy’s cross begins to shake and fall down from the ceiling, anyway.

Remy screams again.

Martin runs to Kenny-demon and stabs him with his blade. Kenny-demon roars in pain and smacks Martin with his claws, knocking him on the ground. Kenny-demon rips the ropes off Remy and wraps his tail around her neck.

Remy begins screaming in absolute fear. Martin, although in pain, gets up from the ground and charges into Kenny, pushing him on the floor. Kenny-demon releases his tail from Remy’s neck, causing her to fall on the floor.

She runs to Glenn to try to help him up, but he doesn’t respond. Kenny-demon picks Martin up with his tail and slams him against the weak walls with brute force. Suddenly, the church begins to shake. It’s going to collapse!

“Remy! Get outta here!” Martin says, struggling to breathe.

“But what about Glenn? He’s not waking up! And what about you!?”

“LEAVE!” Martin yells.

Pieces of the ceiling hit the ground. Remy begins crying.

“I’m not leaving you, Martin!”

“GO!” Martin yells, once again, frustrated.

Crying, Remy gets up and speeds out of the church.

--

Remy sprints out of the church. Not long after, the church collapses and falls into pieces. Remy’s white dress is now gray turning into black. She’s crying. She slowly walks to the remains of the church. Something is struggling to come out of it.

“Martin…?” She asks.

Someone breaks free, and it’s not Martin. Kenny-demon breaks free from the rubble and chases after Remy. Without wasting any time, Remy begins to run for her life. She seems to be in the lead, or so she thought. Kenny-demon is quickly catching up to her. Remy picks up her speed as well. Moments later, she finds herself out of the dark woods, but in front of a cliff. She gasps and runs her fingers through her hair in frustration.

“No! No! NO!”

Kenny-demon catches up to Remy. It attempts to grab her, but she quickly maneuvers out of the way. Kenny-demon, with nothing to hold on to, misses Remy and falls off the cliff. It roars as it falls all the way down the cliff and into the ocean. Remy slowly walks to the edge of the cliff and looks downward, seeing a huge splash below…

--

Remy walks back to the church, worn completely out. Something else is attempting to get out of the rubble. Remy picks up a stick, prepared to strike. Glenn pushes some rocks off him, and attempts to get out. Remy gasps.

“Glenn!”

She drops the stick and runs to Glenn. She helps take off the remaining rubble trapping Glenn and helps him out. In serious pain, he collapses on the ground.

“Glenn! Are you alright?” She asks.

“Yeah, a whole BUILDING just collapsed on me, I’m just fine.” He says sarcastically.

Remy laughs. “I’m going to get you help.” She says.

“Yeah, you do that…” Glenn says, still in pain. He sighs. “Where’s Martin?” He asks.

Remy tries not to cry, to remain strong, but it doesn’t work. She bursts into tears, surprising Glenn. Glenn slowly sits up and hugs Remy. “It’s okay. He’s…somewhere safe, now…” He says, sad as well.

--

A month later, late that afternoon, Glenn is shooting hoops at the basketball court not far from his home. Remy, carrying two heavy bags, walk to him.

“Hey!” She says.

Glenn turns to face her. “Oh, what’s up?” He asks. He walks to her.

Remy shakes her head. “Nothing. I’m about to leave. I just wanted to say good-bye.”

Her and Glenn hug each other. Will you ever come back?” Glenn asks.

Remy shakes her head. “Probably not. There’s nothing here to come back to.”

Glenn nods. “You right.”

“But, we will keep in contact!”

“Definitely.” Glenn answers.

Remy hugs Glenn one last time.

“Bye.” She says. She takes her bags and leaves the basketball court, getting inside a car. Glenn watches as the car drives off.

--

Meanwhile, everyone all over town is watching the news. The newswoman begins to talk. “It’s been a month, and the murders have stopped. This bizarre case seemed to have come to a close. The body of Kenneth Roseburg has finally been found. It’s been revealed that he was, in fact, responsible for the murders of eleven of his classmates, as well as Police Chief John Bradley and college graduate Erin Douglass. There are two survivors of this case, but they asked for their identity to be kept a secret, for they want nothing more to do with this.”

--

The sun is now setting, making the sky appear yellowish orange. Glenn walks to a grave and places beautiful roses on it. The grave reads “Lana Phillips, December 3, 1988-July 29, 2005. May this angel rest in eternal peace.”

--

Remy is on a plane looking at the beautiful sky. She looks at the person sitting next to her and smiles. It’s Terry. Terry wraps his arms around her. Remy lays her head on his shoulder and goes to sleep.

--

The plane rides into the beautiful sunset, like a typical, fairy-tale, “happily ever after” happy ending to such a dramatic series of events.
