Deadly Debts

"All Guns Blazing" by Silent Force could be heard coming from the Hummer, as it quickly sped down the road.

"How the fuck did you manage this?" said Gordon, as him and Laura held their hands over a wound in his stomach.

"So sorry," said James, a sarcastic tone in his voice. "I didn't plan on getting shot in the stomach today." After a lengthy gunfight in the last city they were in, James was shot in the stomach by someone he was sure he had killed.

"This is no time for fighting!" said Jabo "We gotta get James to a hospital...quick!" As they continued driving, Jabo saw a sign up ahead.

"We coming up to a city?" asked Laura, as they passed the sign.

"Yeah," said Jabo "some place called Lencar, sounds good enough as any other place."

"Lencar?!" said James, as he sat up. "We don't need to go there, I'll be fine!" Gordon then pushed James back onto his back on the seat.

"Sorry James," said Gordon "but looks like Lencar's where we're going."

"Damnit!" James said to himself "I hope they don't remember me."

As the group ran into the hospital carrying James, Gordon noticed that James was trying to hide his face.

"James, what the hell is wrong with you?" asked Gordon.

"Not so fucking loud with my name!" said James angrily. After a few minutes, they saw Jabo running up with a nurse pushing a stretcher. They put James on it, and began quickly running down the halls. As they ran, Jabo collided with a tall Italian man.

"Hey, watch it asshole!" said the Italian man angrily. He watched as the group ran down the halls, on either side of the stretcher. As he focused his sights on the body on the stretcher, he found the person looked familiar.

"James?" the Italian man said to himself "Is it possible he's that fucking stupid to have come back?" The Italian man quickly made his way to a payphone, and began dialing.

On the other side of town, in a very large house, sat a heavyset Italian man, with a thin moustache, and balding on the top of his head. As he sat behind his desk, his phone rang. Picking it up, he heard the voice of the Italian man from the hospital.

"What is it Tony?" asked the heavyset Italian man.

"James," said Tony "he's come back."

"Are you busting my balls?" asked the heavy Italian man, as he sat up in his seat.

"I'm not Don Desimone." said Tony "I just saw him on a stretcher with a bullet hole in his gut."

"Take care of him then," said the Don through the phone "bring his head to me!"

"He's not alone though!" said Tony.

"What do you mean?" asked the Don.

"He appeared to have three people following on either side of the stretcher. Some guy with a muscular build, like he was in the army or something. Some big bastard, and some broad."

"Fine," said the Don. "Make sure they don't leave the hospital, I'll send some people."

"Will do," said Tony "thank you Don Desimone."

Don Desimone hung up the phone, and then looked over at a few tall Italian men, with muscular builds.

"Get whoever you need," the Don said to the two men "I want James dead, those other people interfere...waste them as well!" The two men nodded, stood up, and left the room.

Paulie Desimone was the Don of Lencar; he was a man that you didn't want to cross. If you screwed him over in anyway, you would windup with a bullet in your brain, and your body dumped in the river.

After some time in the operating room, the doctors were able to close up James wound. As James rested in his room, the group sat out in the waiting room.

"I wonder what he was so paranoid about?" asked Laura.

"I know," said Jabo "when we said the name of this place, he started having a shit fit." Jabo then looked over at Gordon "Any clue why he freaked out like that?" he asked Gordon.

"Not a clue," said Gordon "James hasn't really told me a lot about his past."

"Ah well," said Jabo "I'm sure we'll find out soon enough." Jabo then stood up and walked over to a vending machine. As he popped some coins in, he saw two tall, muscular Italian men walk in. As the wind blew through their long coats, Jabo could see their hip holsters, and could make out the handle of their guns. As Jabo punched in the selection for his chocolate bar, he saw the Italian man he bumped into earlier, walk up to these two other men. They proceeded to talk in hushed voices, and then they walked through the waiting room, past Jabo, Laura and Gordon. As Jabo walked back to his seat, Gordon and Laura noticed that he looked spaced out.

"Something wrong Jabo?" asked Gordon.

"You could say that." said Jabo, as he opened his trenchcoat, pulled his handgun from the shoulder holster, and loaded in a clip.

"What's the plan?" asked Laura, knowing that when Jabo did something like that, there was gonna be some killing.

"Did you see those three guys who walked past us?" asked Jabo

"The Italians?" asked Gordon

"Exactly!" said Jabo "Those two big bastards that walked in, they had guns."

"Your point?" said Gordon.

"And I thought James was the one who had the stupid comments." laughed Jabo. "Think about it, this guys aren't gonna walk into a hospital with guns, unless they were planning on killing someone."

"But we walked into this hospital with our guns." Said Gordon.

"We're a different case," said Jabo "we always have our weapons on us. For us, it's just common sense!"

"If you two are done flapping your lips," said Laura, as she stood up "we better go see what these guys are up to before they kill someone." As Laura stood up, Jabo and Gordon followed behind her.

"Found it Tony." said one of the tall Italians, as he pointed at the name on the rooms’ door.

"Excellent," said Tony "we go in, pop him, and walk out." Tony slowly opened the door, and the two tall Italians followed behind him. They looked at one of the beds, to see James resting comfortably. As Tony snapped his fingers, one of the men pulled out a handgun, and attached a silencer to it. As the man aimed the gun at James, a man in another bed sat up.

"Hey!" said the man "What are you doing with that gun?" The Italian man looked over at Tony, who nodded his head. With that, the Italian man pointed the gun at the man in the bed, and fired. As the shot went through his forehead, blood splattered onto the wall.

"Now," said Tony "we take care of James!" He then heard the sound of someone choking behind him. Tony turned around, to see the other tall Italian, struggling to breathe, with wire wrapped around his neck, cutting it open. With a tighter pull, the wire cut through his neck, and he fell forward with blood gushing from it. As Tony looked up, he saw Jabo holding the bloody wire in his hand. He looked on either side of Jabo, to see Laura and Gordon. As the other Italian man reached for his gun, Laura quickly grabbed Jabo's combat knife, and threw it, causing it to go into the mans hand.

"You fucking bitch!" said the Italian man angrily, as he used his other hand to pull his gun out. As he went to fire it, he was met with the butt of a shotgun to the face. As he went down, he looked up to see the barrel of Gordons shotgun pointed at his face.

"Wa...wait a minute!" said the Italian man, fear in his voice. "You..you can't kill me here!"

"He's right G," said Jabo "we are in a hospital, we gotta keep this as quiet as possible."

"Yeah, you're right." said Gordon, as he lowered the barrel. As the Italian man let out a sigh of relief, he then saw the butt of the gun coming down on him again. Gordon continued this onslaught, until he heard the crack of the mans skull. As he looked down, he could see a large puddle of blood on the floor.

"Well," said Jabo with a laugh "at least it was sort of quiet!"

"Uh guys?" said Laura "Where the hell did that third guy go?"

"FUCK!" yelled Jabo. As Jabo yelled that, James opened his eyes and sat up in the bed.

"What..what the hell's going on?" asked James, in a half awake state.

"Maybe you could tell us." said Gordon.

"What the hell are you talking about?" asked James.

"That!" said Laura, as she pointed at the two dead Italian men on the ground.

"What the fuck?" said James.

"Yeah," said Jabo "now we gotta find the third guy...where ever the hell he is!"

Meanwhile, hiding in a supply closet. Tony pulled out his cell phone, and called Don Desimone.

"This better be good news!" came the Don's voice through the cell phone.

"Wish I could say that Don!" said Tony

"What the fuck happened?" said the Don.

"Those three people James came in with," said Tony "they killed Gino and Tommy!"

"Shit!" said the Don.

"What do you want me to do?" asked Tony.

"Stay there," said the Don "I'm sending more...by the end there's gonna be bloodshed!"

"So what are we gonna do?" asked Laura, back in James hospital room.

"We get out of here," said Gordon "its likely that guy's gonna come back to finish James off!"

"Then for that reason," said Jabo, "we stay!" He then proceeded to load a clip into his handgun.

"Yeah!" said James "We'll take whatever they throw!"

As James stood up on his bed, his untied hospital gown came fell off, leaving him buck-naked.

"If we're gonna do that James," laughed Jabo "you might wanna put some clothes on!"

"Yeah," said Laura, covering her eyes. "Please do that!"

After some careful movements, Tony made his way outside the hospital. As he looked in the parking lot, he saw a bunch of Lincolns and Cadillac’s pull in. He watched as all these men in expensive suits, got out of their cars, and stood in a line by the last car that pulled in. Out of the last car came Paulie Desimone, Don of Lencar.

"You men know what you need to do." Paulie said to all the mob guys. "Bring me James' head, that bastard owes me...I WANT HIM DEAD!" Paulie and Tony watched, as the men began walking into the hospital, guns by their sides.

"What the hell's going on here?" the head nurse behind the desk asked herself, as she saw all these men in suits walk in.

"Where's James?" demanded one of the men, as he walked up to the head nurse.

"Unless you're a friend or family," said the head nurse "I cannot give you that information."

"Well maybe this will change your mind bitch!" said the man, as he pointed the barrel of his handgun right in her face.

"Ro..Room 307" said the head nurse in a frightened voice.

"Thank you!" said the man, as he pulled the trigger. Blood shot onto the wall as the nurse's head fell forward onto the desk.

"What the fuck was that?" asked James, as they snuck down the hall.

"Sounds like some more of James' admirers," said Jabo "be ready!" As Jabo finished saying that, he looked over and saw the group pull out, and load up their guns.

"FUCKING SHUT THEM UP!" yelled the Italian man, who killed the head nurse. After the nurse had been shot, patients in the waiting room began freaking out, and running all over the place. The man watched as one of the patients tried to run out the front doors. He lifted his gun and fired, hitting the patient in the back. As the patient lay on the ground dying, the man walked up and put a bullet in his brain.

"Anyone else tries to escape," said the man "and that'll happen to them!"

As Jabo and the group slowly made their way down the halls, Jabo felt a bullet whiz by his ear. The group turned around to see two Italian men with handguns.

"The Don wants you dead James," said the one man "we're gonna make sure that happens!" Acting quickly, Jabo and Gordon pulled out their guns, and aimed them at the two Italian men. As they fired, both men’s bodies began convulsing from all the shots entering their bodies. The group watched as the two men fell to the ground in a puddle of their own blood. As they listened, they could hear the sound of a lot of footsteps running in their direction. As Jabo quickly looked around, he found two large doors very close to them.

"In here!" said Jabo, as he ran in, the group following behind. As they ran through the doors, a large sign overtop of it read MORGUE.

"Oh very well planned out!" said James in a sarcastic tone. "This way, they'll have somewhere to put our bodies after they kill us."

"It's been sounding like it's your fault we're in this." said Gordon "So you better start talking."

"What happened here James?" asked Laura.

"Well," said James "...it's a long story!"

"We got some time," said Jabo, holding an M16 "so start talking."

James began to explain to the rest of the group, about how he used to live in Lencar. He told them about how he was a package man for the mob in Lencar. He would deliver drugs, money, guns, etc. James proceeded to tell them that before he left Lencar, he had stolen thousands of dollars worth of guns, drugs and money from Paulie Desimone, The Don of Lencar. He knew that there was a price on his head, and that someone would try to claim it, if he ever came back.

"No wonder all these guys are trying to kill you." Said Laura.

"If it was me," said Gordon "I would have had your car rigged with explosives so the only way you could've left, was in little pieces."

"Well," said Jabo, as he loaded a clip into his gun. "Now we know why they're trying to kill him. The question is, how the hell are we gonna deal with all of them?" As James leaned his head back, he felt it hit something metal. He turned around, and saw a storage door, which held a body inside. James quickly stood up, a big smile on his face.

"What are you smiling about?" asked Laura.

"I got an idea!" said James, as he patted on the door.

"Where the fuck did they go?" said Angelo, as him and four other Italian men stood in front of the morgue doors.

"Maybe they went in here" said Anthony.

"If so," said Angelo "it would be quite appropriate."

The five men walked into the morgue with guns drawn, and began to look around.

"Hmm," said Anthony, as he lowered his gun. "They must not be in here." The rest of the men lowered their guns, and turned towards the door. As the first few walked out, a thud sound was heard coming from one of the storage doors.

"What the fuck?" said Angelo, as he walked over to one of the doors. As he opened it, the table came flying out. Lying on top of it was James, handguns in both hands. As the table came flying out, James began firing from his handguns. Shots hit Angelo all over, as blood flew everywhere before he hit the ground. As Angelo’s body hit the ground, three more doors opened and tables came sliding out. Anthony watched as the table that held Gordon, came off and slid right between his legs. As he looked down, he saw the barrel of Gordons shotgun pointed at him, a smile on Gordons face. As he fired the shotgun at close range, it blew Anthony's face open, pieces of skull and brain flying everywhere. Laura meanwhile was able to get a head shot on one of the guys as she came out the door. As Jabo came out, he had two fully loaded MAC 10's in his hands. He fired full clips into the final two guys in the morgue. Their bodies moving every which way with the amount of bullets entering their bodies.

"Alright," said Jabo, as him and the rest of the group stood up. "Let's get our asses out of here!" As the group stepped out of the morgue, they saw bodies of innocent patients sprawled across the floors and walls.

"Why the fuck?" said Gordon, as he looked over at the group.

"Sick fucks," said Jabo, as he loaded new clips into the MAC. "They'll kill whoever they have to, to get to James."

"Uh guys?" said Laura, as she lifted her hand, and pointed. "I think we got company!" Jabo, Gordon, and James looked in the direction Laura was pointing, to see more mob guys coming towards them.

"Shit!" said James, as he loaded new clips into his handguns. "Now that people are trying to kill me, I'm mister popular in this city." The group proceeded to run at the mob guys coming towards them, weapons in high ready.

Outside of the hospital Tony stood beside Don Desimone, waiting to hear if anyone was able to kill James and the three people he was with. They watched as a short Italian man, who sort of resembled Joe Pesci run towards them in a panic.

"What's the good word?" asked the Don.

"He's still alive!" said the man, sounding out of breath. "Him...him and these people he's with...They're like some kind of killing machines or something. I just saw them take out ten guys in the matter of a couple minutes."

"Why didn't you stay to help our men?" asked the Don.

"I was going to Don Desimone." said the man "But like I said, these people are killing machines!"

Don Desimone looked over at Tony, and nodded his head. Upon seeing this, Tony pulled out a handgun, and pointed the barrel at the back of the Joe Pesci guy’s head. As he pulled the trigger, the man spit up blood then fell forward. Blood began trickling from the hole in the back of his head, and down to the ground.

"Well," said Don Desimone, as he pulled out a gun. "If you want things done right, you have to do them yourself."

The barrels of the group’s guns were smoking, as they walked away from the bodies of more mob guys that were trying to kill them.

"Jesus Christ!" said James "I wonder if we're ever gonna get out of here without having to kill more mob guys." As they turned the corner, a shot was heard and James fell to the floor, grasping onto his shoulder.

"You okay James?" asked Laura.

"Fuck, that hurt!" said James "First my stomach, now my goddamn shoulder." James stood up, and pulled out his handgun. "Whoever shot me, is fucking dead!" As he looked around the corner, he saw Tony holding a handgun with a smoking barrel. Standing beside Tony was Paulie Desimone, The Don Of Lencar.

"James," said the Don in a thick Italian accent. "It's so good to see you again."

"Can the courtesy bullshit!" said James "You've been sending your goons to try and kill me since I came back."

"It didn't have to be this way." said the Don. "You could have still been working for me. Making some good money, getting the protection you needed. But no, you had to do something stupid, like stealing from me!"

"Yeah, protection!" said James "Do you know how many times I had knives and guns pulled on me, when I had to get the coke from the Cubans? I wanted out of that shit, and I knew that the only way was gonna be in a wooden box. There was no way in hell, that I was gonna go out like that."

"So you left Lencar with MY property!" said the Don angrily. "You know what happens when someone takes something of mine. But I'm willing to put things behind us, and try to reach some kind of deal. First things first, call off your dogs!" As James looked on either side of him, he saw Jabo, Laura and Gordon all with their guns pointed at Paulie and Tony.

"Guys, lower em." said James, as he brought up his hands and made a downward motion with them.

"So," said the Don "do we have a deal?"

James brought his arms down to his sides, and quickly pulled a handgun out of a holster on his right side. He lifted the gun, and had the barrel pointed at Paulie Desimone.

"No," said James "we don't!" As he went to fire, a shot was heard, and the gun went flying out of James hand. As he held his hand, he looked up to see Tony holding a handgun with a smoking barrel. Tony pointed the gun at James, and just as he was about to fire, a combat knife flew into his throat. He made gurgling noises, as he held onto his throat. Everyone watched as he fell forward, the blood still gushing from his neck into a puddle on the floor.

"Nice throw Laura." said Gordon.

"Thanks," said Laura with a smile. "It's amazing what you can do, when Jabos combat knife is easy access." They then heard running, and saw the Don running away.

"He's getting away!" said Gordon.

"Don't worry," said Jabo "I got him." He pulled out a handgun, aimed it at the back of Paulie's legs and fired. Paulie yelled out in pain as he fell forward, a small puddle of blood around him. As he turned himself over, he saw the group circling him. He watched as James came right up to him, and placed the barrel of a handgun on the top of his head.

"Please," pleaded Paulie "..don't!"

"Fuck that!" said James angrily, as he pulled the trigger. As he pulled the gun away, Paulie fell forward into a large puddle of blood from the holes in his legs and head. As the group headed towards the front of the hospital, they could see the flashing lights from several police cars outside. "Shit, it's the cops," said James "what do we do?"

"What else?" laughed Jabo "we take the back way out!"

Taking the back way, the group quickly and quietly made it out of the hospital. They got into the Hummer, and quickly drove out of Lencar, headed for whatever came their way next. The newspapers in Lencar would have a story the next day, about the massacre at the hospital. Police and everyone in the city would find out about several people involved in organized crime being killed in the massacre, including Paulie Desimone, known as the Don of Lencar. Police would eventually rule it the actions of a rival family. No one would ever know that it was the work of four people with a large cache of guns.

THE END
