It’s changed, but so do they
5 July 2009
Kew, England
That garden that I glance on
From my attic perch
Once full of bright tall grass
With dandelions in which cats
Would dance with glee
Is now quite full of brambles
And summer’s dull, full heat.
But then the tall oak that was there
Has been brought down
Allowing me full view of windows
Behind which neighbours change
Moulting their night clothes
For grey and white and black
In parody of season’s flight.
