Sitting alone in this haze
The twist of the lip and perpetual mutter
Clouds part for that unreadable gaze
Run up to the stranger and tug at his clothes, with a look so beseeching
His eyes are soulless and dull without recognition
Grasp at the velvet that no one can see
Grasp at that torn up and fragmented memory
Cling to it as if that would bring it all back
Eyes wide and insane,
Remember that day?
Remember that day?
Remember that day when it all went away?

He’s so gray, he’s so dead
When will you see that you’re alone in that bed?
Tied to the walls by self-fashioned chains
So very mistaken when revenge seemed so sweet
You created a monster that you can’t even defeat
Cling to that picture, remember this face
Screaming at that immobilized place
Remember that day?
Remember that day?
Remember that day when it all went away?

That face in the mirror
It seems so familiar
Scratch at the glass with dried blood on your lips
And scars on your skin
To compensate for every half-remembered sin

Waiting for someone to finally say
‘Yes, I remember that day.’
