Close your eyes,
drag the tip of your finger over the edge of your tongue
and pressing it into the powdered energy supplement.
Swirl in it patterns—
Four-winged butterflies and five-pronged daisies—
and bring it back to your lips.
Like childhood summers,
Wet fingers gripping the smoothed block of sugar
With a thin raised border
and dropping it into purple crystals.
Draw the blanched finger back to your gaping mouth
and let your tongue meet the granules like bottled violet sand,
drawing it off of the chalky index and reaching back in,
the experience of implosion between tongue and roof of mouth.
