by Jareth Valentine
Though it seems I walk alone,
It really isn't so.
I've always pleasant company,
Whichever way I go.
The trees that breathe the springtime air,
The flowers, bright and red.
Every raindrop on my face,
The voices in my head.
The stars that light the midnight sky,
The rocks and riverbends.
The grass that ripples in the wind,
All these are my friends.
So even when I'm by myself,
and off and on my own.
I never long for company.
I'm never quite alone.
