Roxanne Barnett
Wow. Ten years from now. A lot can happen in ten years. For all I know, I won’t even be here ten years from now. It would be interesting to think of what all could happen ten years from now. I know how I wish it could be.
Ten years from now I will be sitting in my tiny house, curled up in a cozy chair by the fireplace, drinking hot chocolate and singing Christmas carols, yes Christmas carols in September. My long hair will be pulled back in a messy bun and I will have paint on my face and hands from recently finishing my latest painting.
I will put down my finished hot chocolate and pick up my notebook and begin to work on writing my long awaited story. I will occasionally answer fan mail that the tons of adoring fans have sent me usually regarding my last few huge bestsellers, my latest painting or the new movie I will begin filming just next month. Between the chapters I will sketch little illustrations or ideas for a movie.
The door will open and my person will come inside, carrying a bouquet of flowers, just because. I will take them from my person and lightly kiss her cheek. We will go into the huge living room and pull out whatever home movies we can find and spend the night watching them, together, wrapped in one blanket with the cats purring at our feet.
That is how, ten years from now, I will spend each beautiful, God given day. Surrounded by people that make me happy and doing the things I love.
