I have an ocean inside
of me.
Falling asleep,
I listen to the waves
washing against the sandy bottom;
or against rocks deep
underwater.
I have an ocean inside
of me, where the sunlight filters through
turning the waters into
a blue-green world
with silver sparkles.
I have an ocean inside
of me,
where seaplants wave
their long-fingered fronds
and seaweed grows in
untended gardens.
I have an ocean inside
of me
where waves wash upon
the surface.
But beneath the surface
is calm.
Silence.
Peace.
My ocean.
