Hmm.. Now where would she keep it? Of all the places it can be , where would she hide it?

I walked towards her bedroom, glancing around to make sure no-one was following me.. especially not her. I saw the door half-open and quickly slipped through it. My ears picked up sounds of water splashing from the bathroom. So, she is taking a bath, eh? The coast is clear then..

I jumped on her bed and started searching. I looked under her pillow. Not there..

I looked under the massive sheets. Not there..

Giving up my exploration, I looked at her table. Books, magazines and all other useless items lay scattered around. No point of searching on her table.

Girls.. sheesh.. how did I ever get stuck up with her? Of all the people I could be with , why her? After all, don't I have a right to freedom? The right to choice of living and the right to choose the person to live with? And beyond that, she humiliates me in front of her friends by calling me nicknames. Come on, who likes to be called 'Bubble gum', 'Cutie Pie' , 'Sweetheart'. Jeez.. Would it be too painful to call me by my real name ? I can't even look my friends in the faces anymore. Moreover, now she is hiding my favorite stuff from me.

While I had been rambling, I didn't notice the door opening. She stepped out of the shower. When she saw me, her eyebrows creased. She looked at her bed and saw brown prints all over it. Then , she shrieked so loud that I thought my ears would burst.

I scampered out of the room as fast as I could. I saw the stairs and quickly hopped down.

She came running behind me. But I was fast.. incredibly fast. all thanks to my genes and quick reflexes. I ran to the only person who could protect me from her. Her brother, Tori..

Rica was only a few feet behind me. She was shouting really loudly.

I found Tori's room soon and thank heavens, it was open. I dashed in but to my disappointment found it empty. Rica was going to catch me soon.. What am I to do?

What else.. hide!

I ran for cover. Just when I was disappearing under Tori's bed, she came into the room.

She shouted, "JENKINS! Where are you? Come out.."

Stupid girl..

I snuggled deeper into my hide hole. Suddenly, I felt something really soft and cushy. I turned my head to find what I had touched. Then, realization dawned upon me..

I HAD FOUND IT! Eureka!

I snuggled closer to my prize and rubbed my body with it.

I heard another pair of footsteps enter the room.

It was Tori. He asked his smaller sister, "What are you doing here?"

She replied in her whiny voice , "Jenkins ran in here."

"He did, huh?"

"Yes."

"Look under the bed then."

Traitor.. How could Tori betray me like that.. I watched as Rica's brown head peeped under the bed. Her face broke out in a smile when she spotted me. Tori peeped in, too. He reached in and pulled me out. I growled and fought but he didn't give in. Atleast, I had dragged my prize possession out with me.

Tori shook his head in amusement. "There you are. "

I scowled.

Tori turned to Rica and said, "You know, I think it's time to get a new cat."

Rica looked at the thing in my possession and said, "Yeah and new bunny slippers too."
