Dusty the Dirt Man
By Tom Pothoff
(Sung to "Frosty the Snowman")
Dusty, the Dirt Man was a dry and crabby soul,
With a cigarette and dried up nose and two eyes like a dust bowl.
Dusty the Dirt Man was a fairy tale they say,
He was made of dirt, but Tucsonans know, he is like this ev'ry day.
There really is no magic in those Tucson clouds we see,
'Cause when we think it's about to snow, the temp climbs to 80.
Oh, Dusty the Dirt Man, is alive as he can be,
And the children say he is hot and dry,
Just the same as you and me.
Dusty the Dirt Man saw the coming holidays,
So he said, "Go shop until you drop underneath the sun's warm rays."
Down to the Wal-Mart with a million other folks,
Running through the door, all around the store, he makes sure your clothing soaks.
He led them down the busy street into the traffic jam.
And he stopped to turn his head and look when we heard some cars go "bam."
For Dusty the Dirt Man, has no other place go,
And he loves the heat, says "it can't be beat, and I'll be back tomorrow."
Scrappity scrap scrap, scrappity scrap scrap, look at Dusty go.
Scrappity scrap scrap, scrappity scrap scrap, like a dirt tornado.
