I lie in wait in the coldness of the night

The wind chills me to the bones and whips my hair

It lashes out in order to give fright

It succeeds; I shiver standing, my feet bare

Why does it torture and taunt me?

It hates me and wants to take me away

Where no one can find and I no longer will be

Able to see the light of the day.

Resistance is clear in my mind, but my body,

My body does not obey it

So it sweeps me away, and I cry to my daddy

Help me! and no one can hear it

I lie in the darkness waiting for help

But no one comes and no one cares.
