Lillian’s Life

Her long and shiny metal claws rapped on the wooden bar table as she sat alone and seemed to be fairly content with staying that way. The girl’s pink eyes looked around the room from time to time, hearing voices either being raised or hushed as everyone drank and or played cards or enjoyed certain company. The continued to make the small rapping sound as her gaze fell back to the table once again. It seemed like any other less then casual bar setting. The music playing, the large amount of noise coming on and off from various tables and the loose women who were always out looking for a new man to bring home to their bed, or vise versa. She found this place to be as interesting as some of the other places that she’s been to when the bar doors swung open in a different kind of matter. She recognized the clanging of metal steps, a dark grin coming to her pretty face as she slowly lifted her head up. The light shined off of her narrowly framed glasses as she looked up to find that her assumptions were correct. Everyone and everything went silent as the galactic police androids from the neighboring system, Delta, looked around and then drew up their left arms, the metal on them shifting and reconfiguring until they came into the shape of a large blaster. She chuckled softly to herself as the two officers aimed their guns towards her.

“Lillian, project # 13754, code name: The Unlovable, you are here by under arrest for murder and theft, both small claims and grand. You can either come peacefully or be destroyed,” the one to the left drilled on importantly as if it was something that she hadn’t heard before. Lillian’s grin widened as another small laugh escapes her lips.

“It’s pretty bad when not even the police know you real name,” she said as she slowly rose to her, her dragging her metal arms off of the table with a sigh. The end of her long crimson leather coat slowly slid off of the chair that she was sitting on as both the police and the silent creatures in the crowded bar watched her.

She brought her head up and smiled softly.

“No,” she replied simply before she jumped onto the table and sprung towards them, her strong metal forearms springing up and her claws sticking out dangerously. The androids wasted no time as they began to fire large shots towards her. Almost everyone got down as the androids fire began to span out all over the bar. Lillian laughed and slashed down at them, her metal claws slicing through their metal and flesh frames. Many of the women could be heard screaming in horror both before and during Lillian’s brutal and relentless attack on the police androids as she ripped open their insides and sliced off their mechanical arms.

After she was finished with them they were nothing but a pile of sparking and twitching, flesh and metal, garbage. She looked down at them, her long raspberry hair hiding her sorrowful expression when she heard a blast come from the wall behind her. She looked back at the smoking gaping hole and growled before turning around and running out of the door before more police stormed in.

Lillian climbed into her ship and began to walk down one of the dark metal hallways quickly.

“Maria! Let’s go!” Lillian called out loudly when the small hum of energy could be heard all around her as the ships lights turned on and they were soon off of the ground. Lillian walked into the medium sized kitchen and threw her coat aside before she sat down on one on the metal benches and sighed softly, running a metallic hand through her soft raspberry hair. She looked at her table and grinned slightly before getting up, going to get something to eat.

Maria, a young android around the same age as Lillian walked into the kitchen casually to find her captain and best friend searching through the freezer hungrily. She giggled softly when one of the captains large clawed hands came into view, it holding a large cardboard box. In all truth she loved the captain, especially since she had saved her from a fate worse then death but the claws that she possessed sometimes scared her and gave her horrid nightmares. She knew that it wasn’t Lillian’s fault for having those monstrous things drilled into her arm so she did the best she could to ignore it and look past all of the tough acts that she put on, Maria being one of the only people who’ve been lucky enough to see Lillian’s real heart of gold which she hid deep below.

Lillian stepped out form behind the freezer door and smiled towards Maria who gladly smiled back, happy to see that her captain was in a good mood today.

“So, how was your day?” Lillian asked curiously when Maria shrugged.

“I’ve gotten some more of the repairs done and I’ve made you out a list of things that we have to get in order to keep this ship going,” Maria replied with a small and cute smile.

“So I take it we’re going to the market?” Lillian asked when Maria nodded.

“Yes,” she said, moving some of her curly brown hair back away from her face. Lillian stood over her shorter companion for a couple of seconds before smiling and nodding.

“Good,” she replied, Maria blushing softly as she watched her captain sit down.

“And yours?” Maria asked curiously when Lillian shrugged.

“Same old, same old. Someone trying to catch me and so on,” she replied as she opened the refrigerated box curiously to see if it’s contents were still good enough to eat.

Maria found that the captain’s stare was always so intriguing and mysterious, even if she was about a head taller then her. Maria’s green eyes soon fell back upon the captain before she sat down opposite to her and smiled as they began the preparations for their meal.

“Remember Maria, stay on the ship, we don’t need a repeat of last time,” Lillian said as she strolled down the metallic hall while throwing her coat on quickly.

“Ok,” Maria replied with a nod before Lillian looked to her and nodded back. She smiled towards her softly before she exited the ship, Maria smiling and slowly closing the door behind her. After climbing down the ladder Lillian turned around and began to walk through the ship yards steel walkways. She soon came upon a large, light grey dome which she recognized as the black trading market. She walked in through the sliding metal doors casually and looked around. The lighting in the small space station was dark and the atmosphere wreaked of all that was wrong with the universe. Lies, deceit, robbery, assault of all kinds, black mail, everyone in this room was a guilty low life that had done at least one of these things or more but that didn’t really bother her because that’s what she was referred to as well.

She wasted no time in checking out the tables for the items on the list that Maria had written and given her while they ate. There lack of food had made Lillian give up her full dish to the hungry Maria and in return she got a thanks. Lillian did the best she could to take care of the young android and would help her any way she could, even if it meant that she’d go without a meal or two, though thankfully that day wasn’t today. Lillian had pocketed some money while she was in the last bar and was very thankful now that she did. After grabbing some of the stuff that she needed she went to the small food court and grabbed a hamburger and some french-fries, human food being some of the cheapest there was.

After she finished her food she sat at the table and looked over the list when she heard raised voices which usually ended up leading to a fight. It came from a couple of feet away from her as she watched two largely built, blubbery looking creatures hovering over a small nerdy like being. Lillian sighed and shook her head.

“Stupid creatures,” she muttered to herself when a small piece of metal spun across the floor and hit her feet. She sighed softly and looked down towards her black leather boots and kicked it into reach. She slowly picked it up and looked at it curiously before she recognized it to be one of the pieces that she was looking for.

“It figures,” she replied angrily before she got up out of her seat and began to walk towards the three bickering beings. If it was any other time and place then she’d steal the part and not think anymore of it but the small runt of an android looked as though he needed some help, besides, f there was no honor amongst thieves then the world truly would be chaotic.

She slowly pushed her way through the crowds of creatures until she came upon the center of the circle where the three of them still argued.

“Uhm. Excuse me, I need this part. How much are you charging for it?” Lillian asked as she walked over to them casually, her voice being as casual as her step as she watched the three of them suspiciously.

“Huh?” one of the larger men asked when he chuckled hoarsely.

“Look chick, that part’s ours,” he replied as he reached out past the small nerd to grasp it.

“No it’s not!” The black haired, scraggly man said angrily when the other drew him up high.

“Shut up!” he said, the deep but slow tone showing that in these two guys there was ALOT of brawn, but not enough brain between the two of them to screw a light bulb in.

“Well then I guess it isn’t,” Lillian replied as she stepped back away from the bulbous jelly man.

“Hey!” he replied when the other one grinned.

“It looks like we have a hero on our hands,” the other replied when Lillian grinned darkly, her glasses glaring over.

“I’m no hero, though the proper word should be heroine, and this part and the android along with it is mine,” she replied when they laughed slowly. She began to laugh as well before she drew up her hand and thrust her claws into the guys stomach and out the other side. The other guy gasped while the android passed out on the floor. Lillian grinned as the creatures around her began to back up a little.

“That’s what I thought,” she said before she let him fall to the ground while his friend just stood there silently. Lillian quickly gathered up her things and the android too before she left, no one saying a word to her after that.
