I Heard the Voice of an Angel

I heard the voice of an angel

From very far away

I heard her speaking to me

Even though I hadn't prayed

I recoiled at first from fear

But she looked into my eyes

"I have seen your daily burdens

And I have heard your constant cries

Do not doubt your strength

For within you your spirit is true

And I am your guardian angel

Keeping watch in all you do

Once you find your faith

And lift your head high

You will do many things

And you'll soar above the sky."

I listened very carefully

Hearing all she said

I felt her angelic hands

Wipe the tears that I had shed

I awoke the next morning

Feeling my heart renewed

No more pain or rejection

My spirit had now improved

I lifted my eyes

And viewed a promising day

I spread out my wings

And then I flew away...
