The King Of the Morning Rises up from his bed

And sends a golden waft of sunlight dashing across the sky

Painting the sky a beautiful golden hue

Signaling the beginning of the Morn.

He brushes his teeth, and spits out the clouds

From his mouth

Sometimes forming funny shapes

To his fancy.

And After a hearty breakfast

Puts on his Golden Crown of the Sun

And gathers His Fiery Chariot

Reins His Flaming Horses

And gallops across the sky

Swiftly Cleaning up all the Dark corners of the World.

And he gallops across the blazing sky

Bringing food for the flowers

And warmth for the trees

And the children laugh and play

In the grassy green hills

Touched by his golden hand.

From the East to the west, he gallops

And he wishes he could go further

But time can go on for only so long

And horses can run for only so far

And the rays of the sun

Can fight back the darkness

For not much longer.

And barely has his sunlight reached

Half of the Planet Earth

When The Queen Of Darkness

Awakens from her slumber

And sweeping of the cobwebs of sunlight

From her Dress

She stretches and yawns

And her Black Widows hear her

And she sends them scurrying across the sky

Sprinkling their spindly threads of black.

And she opens her fridge for a midnight snack

After which, She is fully awake

And her servants have just finished

Weaving a silky path

On which she can tread.

She adorns herself with a Necklace of stars

And On her forehead

Places the Magnificent Moon-Jewel.

Then, putting on her Billowing Cape of Stars

Sweeps Across the Sky

Treading on the silky path

Gliding gently across the sky

Bringing slumber to the children

Sending a cool night’s breeze

Through their windows

Whispering sweet lullabies

Lulling them gently to sleep.

But even as these children dream

The Monarch of Light comes racing up

Sending the bright promise of a new day

Glinting through their windows

And Lady Black

Tsking gently and with a little frown

Glides over to put them to sleep again.

And so their endless duty continues

From day to day

Till the end of eternity.
