Such a White Night
On you have whispered your teary songs
It's late; you don't sleep
This, the fate you didn't need
Cold silver glow, so long it has known
What you fail to face
You feel as time stands in place
If you'd delved into future that day
Would you be here now?
Screaming inside, eyes cast down
And maybe someday
You'll believe what I sayOne o'clock, and such a white night
Seek no more with eyes
Waste no more nights with your sighs
A coward dies a million deaths
When will you learn?
With the moonlight fades that yearn…
But just to sing beneath the stars and
Mourn of yesterdays
Those times that won't fade away
And that cool: A circle in water
Answers not your own
No trust for which you think you know
Smiles trickling through your fingers
So cry on, dear heart -
This wasn't supposed to be easy
And maybe someday
You can grasp what I sayOne o'clock, and such a white night
Seek no more with eyes
Waste no more nights with your sighs
A coward dies a million deaths
When will you learn?
With the moonlight fades that yearn…
As a tide would ebb and it would flow
Such shall come to pass
And besides, you took the chance
And maybe someday
You'll believe what I sayOne o'clock, and such a white night
Seek no more with eyes
Waste no more nights with your sighs
A coward dies a million deaths
When will you learn?
With the moonlight fades that yearn…
And maybe someday
I just won't have to say…
