Authoress’s Note:

This is a prayer for Yule. I wrote it first in English, and then translated it into a language I use for a certain nation in one of my fictional endeavours. I think I actually like it a lot better in Raeglythan than I like it in English. It’s got a really good flow, a nice sense of rhythm.

Happy Yule, everyone!

(Raeglythan)

(English)

Please, Mother

Please, Mother

Bless me with Your favours

Bless Your Daughter

Bless Your Daughter

Bestow upon her Your glory

On this day

In this dark hour

I ask of You Your blessing

I ask to see

The path of life

The light I must follow

On this day

When all is cold

When winter grips the heart

I ask to see

The coming sun

And what it holds for my future

Please, Mother

Please, Mother

Do not forget Your Daughter

Please, Mother

Please, Mother

On this day bless Your Daughter
