'Damn, I really wish I didn't have to do this.' she thought to herself as she walked down the unlit hallway in the charter school with him following behind her.

She didn't go to the charter school herself, it's just where her fencing coach held their lessons every Tuesday night. Besides, it was an elementary/middle school and she was a junior in high school.

The only lights on in the entire school were the ones in the entrance hall, the gym, and the bathrooms. One of the halls coming off the entrance hall was nice and dark, so no one would see what she was about to do.

She'd had a crush on the person who was following her since pretty much the moment she'd seen him. She wasn't sure exactly why she had waited over a year and a half to get the nerve to ask him to homecoming dance. Maybe she'd wanted to get to know him better, and since he didn't go to her high school it took longer because she'd only gotten to see him once a week at fencing, if he went. What had she found out over the course of the past year and a half? More than she could've ever hoped for, but the number one thing was this: she tended to be a rather difficult person, not that she did it on purpose she couldn't help it. A lot of the time, her friends would have to tell her to stop, but he, her crush, seemed to understand her like he'd known her for much longer than just the year and a half of fencing they'd been through.

That had happened a couple of months ago, and they had been dating steadily ever since, but now something was different, much different.

She had only been down this hall once before, but she knew how long it was. She stopped when she reached the end, and turned to him and looked up into his lovely blue eyes, "Bet you thought we were going to make-out." she said wittily.

He laughed, "Well, I-"

"Will, hypothetically speaking, if you had to become a vampire or a werewolf which would you choose?" She looked up at him with questioning eyes.

He looked up and thought about it for a short while. "Werewolf." he said finally, "Why?"

"Uh..." she shifted her weight nervously, "Remember last week when I went to Europe for Thanksgiving break?"

"Yeah..." he said, prompting her further. She shifted her weight again. "Well, what is it?!" he asked, trying not to sound too impatient.

"Last week, when I was in Europe, something happened."

"What, what happened?!?"

She took a deep breath trying to calm down, "I was going on a simple little trip to the nearby grocery store a few blocks from the hotel. It was kinda late, so I decided to take a short cut through a back alley. When I got about half way through it, a door burst open right next to me and someone fired a gun out into the alley. They weren't aiming at me but they hit me anyway, a couple times." She paused for a moment to think about what she was going to say next. "I don't really remember exactly what happened next, I think I passed out, but the next thing I do remember is this strange looking guy standing over me, he was arguing with someone but I couldn't hear what they was saying. Then the strange guy turned to me and told me to get up and that everything would be fine, and I did. The bullet wounds were gone and there wasn't any pain. So I asked him what happened, if it had been a dream or something. He looked at me kinda sadly and said that the only way to save me was to turn me into a vampire, and so I am a vampire." She finished.

Will just stood there and stared at her for a while until he finally laughed and said, "Good one!! You had me going there for a while."

"I'm not joking. I'm dead serious." She said, expecting that kind of reaction, "I'll prove it to you. What kind of creatures can a vampire turn into?"

Thinking for a moment, "Bat, wolf, and a red mist." he said.

"And a rat and a demon form that's a mix of all of them." she added.

"Really?"

"Yes, now watch." and she turned into each in order.

Even in the poor lighting, she knew he could see her and she could see the features on his face turn from disbelief to a mix of fear and wonder. Before she changed out of her demon form, he reached out and touched her but quickly recoiled, "You really aren't joking."

She turned back to her human form, "No." she said, looking at the ground.

"So, what happens now? Are you gonna bite me or something?"

"Unfortunately yes." she said grimly, "That's what that earlier question was for."

"What?"

"The one about the werewolf or vampire."

"Oh, but-?"

"Yes, vampires can also turn people into werewolves by sucking more than the normal amount of blood from their victim."

"Is that why-?"

"Vampires can control werewolves? I think so." There was a short silence.

"Oh, well." Will finally said, breaking the silence.

"Well what?"

"Well, aren't you gonna bite me?"

"Oh yeah, sorry, I kinda got off the subject." She took a deep breath.

"Wait, why are you doing this again?"

"Because the vampire that created me is a sadist," she replied shortly, "and as hard as I try, I can't disobey him."

"And he told you to bite me?"

"Roughly speaking, he told me to bite someone that I loved very, very much." she explained. He stepped backwards, taken aback. She stepped up and, brushing away the several strands of blond hair that had escaped from his ponytail, kissed him for a long moment, and then, breaking the kiss, whispered, "Sorry." and bit him in the neck.
