Wall of Protection

Counting engraved lines
Along the Wall around me
Iron bricks so suffocating
Everywhere to look
But nothing to see

Trace my fingers on
Unbreakable surface of protection
Bones will crumble up inside my
Only sight, mirrored reflection

Step away from my cage
This soul is left to linger
Forever in your shadow
Urge to wrap your throat between my fingers

Parellel to those passed by
To live within the earth
Might as well be buried with
The coffins in the dirt

Love too overwhelming
Set me free from your kisses
Away from hugs too tight
Ignore my pleading wishes
Though yearn to treat me right

Ignorance is bliss for me
Look away just for a moment
Think just of another one
So you may unlock these chains of torment

Relieve your own fast-beating
Single focused resistant heart
Think of yourself and only you
And let me drift apart

Realization sinking in your mind
Nothing more you need to know
I don't need your protection anymore
It's time to let me go
