Erika: Wow, ya know, when it said “soon”, I wasn’t planning on waiting another 2-3 months before I would write the next chapter…so sorry it took so long.

Just be

Why?

Wouldn’t it be easier to accept what you are than to deny it?

Who are you?

That is of no importance. You need to be who you are.

I can’t.

You can. You will, time will eventually make you accept what you are.

GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!!!

“GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!!” Sakiira screamed in her sleep. Seth ran over to her, shook her awake.

“Sakiira, Sakiira wake up!” He kept shaking her until she opened her eyes. She lashed out, scratching at whatever she could reach. Seth grabbed her arms, pinning them over her head and he straddled her.

“Sakiira wake up.” Seth commanded loudly. Sakiira’s eyelids fluttered and she fell asleep. Seth sighed, got off her and stared out at the night sky. He glared at the full red tinted moon.

“Curse this week.” He muttered darkly. The week of the Apocalypse. Every fifteen years, for three days the moon was yellow, but tinted red. Anyone with substantial power fell into a deep sleep and couldn’t tell dreams from reality. The person’s shield cracked, and if shattered, the person would die. Sakiira, unfortunately, fell victim to the red tinted moon.

“Why couldn’t I have been the one to fall prey? Why her?” Seth muttered to himself. He walked over to Kiir and sat down next to him. Tal flew down from the night sky and landed on Seth’s shoulder. Seth stroked the feathers lovingly, Tal being close to Seth’s own kin.

“If only….” Seth murmured, stroking Tal absentmindedly.

It always is ‘if only’ in my world because in my little world ‘if only’ can turn into reality, whether it be the most impossible thing in the world. If I said ‘If only the rape had never happened to Sakiira’ it would be so. But in the world of mortals, ‘if only’ is only ‘if only’ and can never be anymore than a wistful phrase. Now with the week of the Apocalypse here it was going to take a miracle for Sakiira to wake up. Why? Why couldn’t it have been me? Why didn’t I protect her better in the War? So that she wouldn’t be cursed to this mortal life at all. Maybe that is why the powers that be cast me out of Eternity. Because I failed…well screw them! I’m on my own now, and I have to help Sakiira, even if means my destruction and utter damnation of my soul.

“Seth.” Sakiira moaned in her sleep, turning over, her eyes closed shut. Seth stood up and grabbed a wet rag from the water bucket. He gently placed it on Sakiira’s hot forehead and his fingertips just barely brushed her cheek. He felt the negative energy traveling up his arm and he knew he could take her pain away.

But then what? The next time the Apocalypse comes I might not be there to help her. If she survives this she is immune to it the next time. If….she survives….stop it, you can’t think about that! She’s going to live. Seth’s face was expressionless but he felt that fierce determination burning in his soul, I’m going to save her…even if it kills me. Seth laid down next to Sakiira on the bed, and wrapped his arms around her. He felt the negative energy again, but this time he welcomed it, If we can share each other’s pain than we’ll both make it. Don’t be angry darling Sparrow, don’t be angry.
