Helios Rising

~

Through a once-sealed window cometh the light
A chamber through its darkness comes alive
Twilight bursts to color with all its might
To change evil blackness the sun dost strive

Into unlit corners the sun's rays stretch
Fighting off the nightly obscurities
Shadows the pale fingers reach out to catch
The immense star rises, gloominess flees

Blazing tongues of fire flash across the sky
Gray shot with pink, red, yellow, and, last, blue
Make haste! in leaving - dark phantoms glide by
Gone with the arrival of morning's dew

The question comes: which goes and which shall stay?
Light, triumphant, begins the start of day.
