light burns brighter in darkness

hope strengthens greater in despair

peace soothes deeper in war

for when we are content

we do not seek happiness

for it is within our grasp

we take it for granted

when joy is constant

perhaps that is why

the human heart

truly shines when tragedy

strikes

is it any wonder

why God allows such things?

otherwise

how else can we see

how bright the light can blaze?
