Pandora’s Box

See now, the many facets of ambiguity
And comprehend hope and pain and misery
Containing wanton chaos, entropy
(In a simple oblong, what craft, what mastery)

Merely flesh and blood that holds potent
Weapons that love, hate rejoice and yearn
The simple, complex power of emotion
(Captured within that wooden prison)

Such an ironic, intangible paradox,
That in bitter sardonic, cries and mocks,
The world’s adversities locked within a box.
(Whatever is inside, it sweetly talks)

Do deign to see what it is inside
Inquisitively insatiable, we must shed light
Too late! To lament our sad plight
(How do we catch it, its already taken flight)

Alas, our shattered, crushed utopia
Flawless without equal, without peer
Ruined by agony, deceit and fear
(Mourn its loss forever, tear after tear)

Lets rebuild paradise block by building block
And adorn it with a shiny, golden lock
And into the ocean we shall wrench the key
(So no one can get in you see)

We will indulge in our little foibles
And create our fantasy realm of fairytales.
But alas! Curiosity I could not contain,
(Was it me who opened that box again?)
