Tissue Paper
Your promises clothe me like tissue paper
They cover me
Drape me
Protect me
But all in all,
They're just tissue paper
Light
Brittle
Transparent.
At the first sign of storms,
Your promises dissolve.
They disappear from my body
Leaving me bare,
Exposed.
I am stripped of all virtue,
Of all innocence
Left with the rain pouring down my skin
Melting away my purity.
