Honest Lies

Everyone is so hypocritical
We call for peace on Earth
And for good will to all men
But we don't understand what it's worth.

Broken signs leading to dead ends
Shattered dreams on ice cold pavement
The demons of all men put in control
This is our ignorance's punishment.

Setting fire after fire to ourselves
A domino effect on our lives
Literacy has gone to waste on us
Our hearts still belong to ever sharp knives.

Hopes all based on hollow lies
Is this the basis of our world?
All followers of our leaders are doomed
This is the reality into which we're lured.

The world of the damned is where we are
Beggars and bums to the call for peace
No good soldiers in a hypocrites army
Fighting forever for our single release.

Release yourself from the grip of this
These honest lies we've learned to believe
Go against the books and the rules
And find what you set out to achieve.
