HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A/N: I’ve had this fic for a while, and even though it’s a Halloween fic, I wanted to put it up now instead of waiting until October.
Rating: PG-13. There’s plenty of talking about sex, and plenty of kissing and a bit of groping, but not much else. Not to my knowledge, anyway.
Warning: Slash mainly. I’m sure I’ve sworn in here a few times too, just because I can’t help but write swears when I write about things that outrage my characters.
Genre: Mystery/Romance
A/N: This chapter is setting up the mystery bit of this story.
Summary: Long ago a man named Duke Herrishfurd lost the love of his life just after asking for his hand in marriage. Wanting to be able to live a lifetime with the one he loved, the Duke called upon a witch to cast eternal youth upon the mansion and its occupants, so that one day his love would be reincarnated and would return to him and they could live their lives together for always. Now that reincarnation might have finally come about, but why did he die in the first place? Was it suicide? Why would he have done that? Was there some dirty hand behind his death? Will his reincarnation find true love, or will the past repeat itself yet again?
Halloweens Passed
Prologue
“Master! You can not marry to… to him!” The servant argued.
“Charles.” A tall dark haired beauty soothed patiently. “You must not worry over these things.”
“But what of Ms. Elizabeth?” He pleaded.
“She is a beautiful flower, Charles.” He stated longingly. “She will make someone a lovely bride.” He began walking away, in a dismissive manner.
“She wishes to make herself your bride!” Charles continued relentlessly. “You need this marriage! Your father has passed; you need an empress and an heir, my liege!”
“I understand this, Charles, but I will not forfeit my heart just to appease my father’s wishes. If our family line must end with me, then so be it. I will give my dear cousin all my estate after I have passed. She will carry on the line and keep our name, of course. I have spoken to her over these possibilities.”
“Your father did not trust his brother and heirs!” Charles shouted, frustrated.
“Charles! Whatever has overcome you? I tell you! I am doing the right thing. Be patient and you will see.” He smiled warmly. Charles looked defeated and grim. “I must go now and propose to my dearest Erin. I feel almost giddy! Like a schoolboy again!” He laughed, turned toward the door, and left at a steady gait.
“Oh, Master! You have made an err. I will take care of things for you though. Your mind is too clouded for these matters. I will take care of things.”
A/N: I realize this was very short, but I’d just like to know that someone is interested in this, even if it’s only a little so far and I’ll put up the next chapter which is much longer and much more detailed. This was the prologue to the mystery, a selection of the past to help you understand the present.
Please tell me what you think! Just a word or two would be lovely.
