“Buried I Lie”

Buried I lie

Beneath the darken’d seas

Trumpets blaze on some distant shore

But they carry not through these murky depths

Buried I lie

Beneath this wav’ring stillness

No light may pierce these sullied waters

Save the flowing tendrils that I cannot grasp

The oceans sigh

High and now; in and out

Weaving in such repetition

Their haunting, silver melody

If I could only hold these shimm’ring ribbons,

I would wind them all about my neck;

Such a lovely necklace of death

And thusly I would dangle there

Upon the happiness not mine to touch

--end--
