A/N: This is for my entire story, I just thought that I would let the reader’s know that I changed Lucien’s name to Liam, I never really liked the name Lucien and I just now got around to finding a more suitable name. So if you come across the name Lucien when you are reading could you let me know so I can fix it.
She smelled slightly of berries, although the exact variety was indiscernible he was still intoxicated by the sweet aroma. He wasn’t even sure who she was; just another girl passing through his life. That’s how things always had been for him, Liam Blackwell, one woman after the other, just a variety of fragrances lost in the jungles of his mind. –But wait, it’s not what you think, he is not that kind of person, here wait you’ll see– Liam watched the berry scented woman walk past him as he sat quietly at his café table. In all reality he knew not who she was, just berries and nothing more.
Kayden stood behind the counter; her usual post, no one was at Bartley café except for the mysterious guy, he was always here, never ordered anything, just sat there. No wonder her father’s café was going bankrupt, he was always letting bums take shelter in here. Kayden shrugged her delicate shoulders, why should she care she planned on leaving this dump as soon as she graduated. Kayden was studying to be a journalist at the school just on the other side of town, with only one year left she felt that she was ready to take on the world. But first she would have to pass her classes and conquer the college world, so she sat down to finish her essay.
“Excuse me, miss?” Kayden shook herself awake a small glistening puddle of drool lay where her mouth just was, she must have dosed off. She turned to look at who had awaken here, and was surprised to see it was the mysterious guy; of the thousands of times he has been here he never talked, he just sat there. What could’ve made him move, wait what if her was a health inspe...
“ I am sorry to have bothered you form what seemed to have been a peaceful slumber but, oh sorry dear but you seem to have a little..., here let me.” He reached over the counter and brushed the spittle off her chin. Kayden blushed as she realized what he just did, but she quickly recovered.
“Thank you, sir, how may I help you?” He stared at her for a few minutes, dazed as if he had forgotten what he wanted, then it suddenly hit him,
“Yes, I would like a cup of coffee, oh yes coffee,” he was acting like a scared rabbit; all jittery and uncertain. Kayden sighed and turned around to make his coffee, without even looking at him she told him his total and continued making the vile drink. Turning she handed him the drink, took his money and recited the usual phrase, in her perfect coffee maker attitude,
“Here you go sir, would you like some cream or sugar?”
“Would I? Oh yes of course that..umm..would be lovely, sorry about that I almost forgot where I was, but I am much better now. Kayden flashed him a quick smile, grabbed a few packs of sugar and a cup of cream, handed them to the stranger, wished him a good day, and watched him head back for his usual table. Shrugging off the whole incident Kayden went back to her essay, unable to fall asleep again.
Liam sat back down with his cup of coffee, he sniffed it but couldn’t bring himself to drink any. He didn’t even know why he bothered to buy the stuff, he just wanted to talk to her, but instead he had to continue with the annoying charades. Now because of his shifty dodging tactics he was still no closer to his objective, and to top it all off the last of his dwindling money was spent on something he couldn’t even bring himself to drink. Sighing Liam gave up for the day, he just couldn’t do it, she couldn’t be the one he needed, she was not regal, or divine, hell she wasn’t even slightly impressive. She was just another poor ratty girl, who served coffee in a shop with absolutely no costumers. Shaking his head Liam stood up, put on his coat, made the coffee disappear from the cup with a slight twitch of his finger and walked out the front door.
Finally her essay was complete to her satisfaction, it was another ‘A’ just waiting to shine. Kayden stood up from her usual post just in time to see the mysterious guy leave Bartley Café. She promptly got up to clear the coffee cup that the guy didn’t even touch, and to wipe down the sparkling clean tables, a task that she did just to hold up the pretense that she was a functioning waitress. Reaching to grab the coffee, she was surprised to find that it was completely empty, even more alarming was the fact that the cup was so clean that one would think that there was never any coffee in it at all. After a few moments of contemplation, Kayden shrugged the whole situation off, simply assuming the guy poured the coffee into the table plant and then wiped the cup clean. Although this assumption seemed a bit odd, Kayden supported her theory by reminding herself that this mysterious guy was a bit odd. After making sure Bartley Café was spick and span, she flipped the close sign on, locked the door, and began her walk home, after all no one else was going to show up at that run down café.

–Authorial Review Corner–
Okay well this being my first posted story, I figured that I would leave a few remarks. I am not sure how often I will be posting, or even if I will post after this first chapter, I guess it all depends on the demand. So unless I feel a sudden urge to write in the middle of class, my updates will be over the weekend. I would like to make this a sort of interactive story, so I have laid out the basis all I need now is some suggestions, I mean I already have my own plans for the story, but hey I am willing to change them. So if you have ideas, leave a review, or e-mail me; whichever works best. Thanks for reading this far, I hope it wasn’t to disappointing.
