“Toyroom”

With toy trains and paper airplanes
To draw me away from this place
In the breath of a whistle
The blink of a doll’s eye
A sullen cry of “Mama” on its mechanical tongue
Traced in the shadows
A figurine of green and camo
Stands watch over its serene land
Rainbow keys leave dusty fingerprints
Of sound: tinkle, jingle, rain sounds
Pitter, patter, train goes round
In circles, hawk-like predator
Whoot!ing at silent intervals
Tick tock of clocks and woodwork
Nutcracker ballets trimming the walls
Building blocks and abandoned shell collections
Forgotten on the dank, dark floor
Ballet slippers (pink in hue)
Left for dust and cockroaches
Spiderweb of the finest cotton candy strand
Decorating the floorboards and fixtures
Childhood dripping memories
Locked away in an old room
An old lock, an old key
That’s been lost
Ever since I’ve moved toward common sanity.

Hm. I never meant to really rhyme that last part; somewhat takes away from the whole . . . anyway. It still works, I suppose.

Not as great as I had hoped for it to be, but it's more than decent. The mental image is much sharper, much more . . . complex? (Perhaps.)

But yeah. Pretty much content with this one. n.n

Oh, and did I ever say that I really hate this new editing system? --;; (It keeps eating up my text. . .X.x)
