Anna’s Story
Anna’ s very sad the day of her tenth birthday because no one has remembered the special day.
Anna went downstairs for a snack. When she opened the refrigerator, however, all thoughts of food were gone from her mind.
On the top shelf sat a thing that looked like a dwarf. Before Anna could speak, the dwarf introduced himself.
“ Darwinthiel the dwarf, at your service. Dar for short.” Dar bowed to her.
“Hi, I’m Anna. Are you really a dwarf?” Anna asked in awe.
“Yes, I am, and you are a princess from the land of Melrosell,” Dar answered. “Melrosell is an island hidden by magic. Only people with magic in their blood can ever reach it or see it.”
“ I want to go there. Why did I even get here in the first place?” Anna asked.
“ That I can not answer,” Dar answered. “ Come on, the king is waiting for us”
Dar pulled Anna very close to him, and touching her hand, he said the word shalom.
Instantly they appeared on a road next to a sigh saying “ The palace” and pointing to one.
Dar led Anna through the palace gate and into the palace, to a room that was filled with people. Dar introduced Anna to the King, and went away to talk to a group of creatures that looked like him.
The King then led Anna away to a room that looked like a dining room. This room was full of people too.
“ Here’s the family, Anna,” the King said. He introduced Anna to everyone, including a man she didn’t like that’s her uncle.
They then sat down to eat. Doing that time, sitting next to the King, Anna learned about herself. He told her that she was an only child, so naturally she’s the heir to the throne. She had to be adopted by another family to keep her from danger. The King told Anna that there had been an attempt to kill her when she was a baby. Someone had tried to drown her in a pond, but a maid found her and rescued her before she could go to meet her maker.
Anna learned that she had the gift to talk to cats, and then went to her new room to think about it.
Her room is a large one, but she soon found out that there were bigger rooms in the castle, like her parents’ room.
One day, when Anna was exploring the palace, a person dressed in black tried to strangle her with a rope, but he was caught when Anna gave a cry that sounded like a cat’s.
From that day on, Anna started taking lessons in how to use her gift. Soon, it came handy.
On a cloudy day a month before her eleventh birthday, Anna saw her uncle go down the stairs wearing black clothing, and decided to follow him. He went into a room that hasn’t been used, ever, and closed the door, but not before Anna saw that the room contained about ten people.
Anna stood outside the door to listen. She could barely hear what the people inside the room were saying.
“ What’s the new plan, my lord?” One man asked.
“ The last two attempts to kill Anna and get the throne has failed, but this one shall not,” her uncle answered. “ At her birthday banquet, I’ll get her to come with me to the small unused servant room near the dining hall. Then we shall kill her and pretend nothing has happened. When I’m heir I shall award you guys handsomely.”
Anna has heard enough. She run back to her room and called her pets, given to her by the Queen as a gift, and told them what she heard.
Quickly she called all the cats in the kingdom, which were many, to honor her. She told them that she needed their help and that she would call when she did. She told the cats to wait outside the room next to her bedroom and to come into the room when she needed their help to fight her uncle and that the lock to the room is broken.
Anna went to find her uncle. She found him in the throne room, looking at the ceremonial crown. Anna told him that she needed his help, and got him to follow her into the room, as planned.
Anna then did a thing that was both brave and stupid. She told her uncle that she wanted to fight him in a magic battle, and his magic is more experienced and more powerful than hers.
Anna called half the cats in, for she wanted to keep the other half for the end, to deliver the ending blow.
More than half came into the room. They started scratching her opponent, but little did she know that his gift were to call elephants. That explains why they were allowed on palace grounds.
The elephants- there were five- came stomping into the palace, and somehow managed to get upstairs, and into the room they came.
Anna quickly thought up a plan. She sent the cats outside the door to hunt for mice and bring them into the room.
Within five seconds, the first mouse was brought into the room, startling the elephants. Within minutes, the elephants run away from the room in fear. The King himself came up to see why the elephants were upstairs, and Anna told him the whole story while the cats kept her uncle still as the palace guards put him in jail.
When Anna went out to get some fresh air the next morning, people of all ages congratulated and cheered her on her victory. She later learned that her uncle took from the people without reasons.
Time passed, and Anna learns about the kingdom and herself. She settles in.
Years later, she gets the throne and becomes an outstanding ruler. The people think Anna’s the best ruler ever, and soon she got used to the idea.
