Something here i wrote today, it's inspired by the country song whiskey lulluby, i just love how that sounds.

Well here goes

Whiskey Lullaby.

Little girl not yet nine

mother sits drinking wine

father gone, no one cares

go to bed and say your prayers

momma misses her school play

quit her job and drinks all day

daughter goes and cuts her hair

sells it for some clothes to wear

little girl not yet fifteen

mother prays her way clean

father gone, no one cares

no more bedtime, no more prayers

daughter plays with all the boys

takes their money and gives them joy

no more teddy bear at night

stays out till the morning light

little girl not yet eighteen

mother hides, is never seen

father gone, no one cares

the answer is coming to all their prayers

mamma tucked her in tight

kissed her with whiskey lips and said good-night

dressed up in her wedding dress

took her life with whiskey breath

little girl not yet nine

mother never touches wine

father hugs them day and night

house is filled with love and light.
