evil temptations

against unknown ambitions

how do we begin?

it’s Adam and Eve all over again

pushing, pulling

never dulling

surrounding us

and pounding us.

twisting, turning

constantly yearning

the perpetual desire

to gaze in the fire.

it’ hard to resist

But God, too, persists

your conscience he created

your evil desire has faded
