Leering eyes
Hoping for a coming demise
Staring shamefully at the time
But counting down the end days of mankind...
Awaiting disaster
Different religions crying out to their Lord and master
I wonder where I fit...
And if I'm going to heaven or down into a flaming pit...
Questions of the universe
Blazing sparks of controversial verse and perverse
Questions that are rhetorical
Maddening beats of a heart beat underneath the floor board
Catching a glimpse of a reflection never quite there
Fiddling with laws unfair
A time that repeats itself in the morn and in the night
9:24...
Maybe our last truth or lie...
A complication if whether I want to have a child
What if the apocalypse wishes to unleash it's mighty spear?
Now, and right here!
Down through the earth's atmosphere!
Down it plunges, and the world separates...
Imagining the last tresses of the sea
Tickling gently at the toes of your feet
And I, sitting in a library
Reading at my leisure without a dolly care
How can anyone be so cliché or nonchalant?
How do they dare?
At least remember the last taste of pie on your taste buds
Gaze for the last time at that diamond stud
Will he place it on her finger before the forbidden time comes?
Will they wed?
Or will the Armageddon come and steal them off to the dead...?
Leering eyes...
Hoping for a coming demise...
Staring shamefully at the time...
But counting down the end days of mankind...
Awaiting disaster...
Different religions crying out to their Lord and master...
It's 9:24...
