Beat

Jiggle up and down

Turn around

Jiggle up and down, jiggle up and down

Turn around

Jiggle up and down, up and down, up and down…

“Wanna dance?” the voice was rough, too many hard drinks, excited and daring. Her hands were twitching and she was swaying to the impulsive beat. Short skirt, high boots and no shirt.

He kept his eyes on his drink, as he muttered, “No thanks.”

Her pupils were dilating as she bounced off, arms held high in the air, bracelets banging as they fell from her pale bruised wrists.

Jiggle up and down

Turn around

Jiggle up and down, jiggle up and down

Turn around

Jiggle up and down, up and down, up and down…

Everyone was dancing.

Those not involved in the serious occupation of tonsil hockey at least.

The beat made you move, made his feet start thrumming the beat. Stilling his foot, his muscles tensing uncomfortably.

He didn’t want to dance.

Jiggle up and down

Turn around

Jiggle up and down, jiggle up and down

Turn around

Jiggle up and down, up and down, up and down…

But his body wanted to move.

Grabbing a girl by her arms he brought her close, then twirled her away in a spin. She collapsed on the ground, falling on her butt, giggling uncontrollably.

The music stopped.

And the people faded away.

The dance floor empty.

As he danced.

Jiggle up and down

Turn around

Jiggle up and down, jiggle up and down

Turn around

Jiggle up and down, up and down, up and down…

To the beat of his own mind.

Turn around!
