What is the deal with all these cliques? I mean seriously I don’t understand them…why exclude someone from your circle of friends just because they don’t dress, talk and act like you? I’ve never understood that, and I seriously don’t think I ever will. But truthfully does anyone understand it?
First you have the cheerleaders and jocks clan. They pull it off as if no one is good enough to be their friend, either your too poor, to ugly, or you don’t like what they do. It’s sad isn’t it? I find it sad; I mean why would you want someone who is exactly like you as a friend, or part of your group of friends? What makes friends so close, I think, are their differences.
After the cheerleaders and jocks, also known as preps, come the goth/punk clan. Now this clan from my observation despises the preps clan, they try everything just to get a rise out of them, and when they do, that is when they celebrate. Usually they talk about how their lives are so horrible and how nothing goes right for them. I think to myself, boo hoo; you aren’t the only one with a bad life, or a problem in life. Most of the goth/punk people dislike me for just that reason too, because I say you aren’t the only one.
Next you find the wondering clan. This clan doesn’t belong together usually, but in a rare case you’ll find a small group that wonder together. Now, the people in this clan wonder around from clan to clan. They really don’t know where they belong; at least that’s what I think. I also think that they want to belong somewhere, like in one place, but they can’t find a place that feels right to them. I used to be there myself, but then I found where I belong, which is the clan that is coming up next.
The loner clan, that’s the clan I personally belong to. This clan believes that the whole clique thing is ridicules, they wonder why people have to label each other, but you will find a random few that pick about as well as say they hate labels. Some would say that it’s hypocritical to do that, but admit it; we’ve all done it before. Even you have.
Lastly you have the nerdy/outcast clan. I feel they’re looked down by all other clans. Usually the people in this clan don’t like each other but they have to stick together, someone is better than no one right? What some people don’t understand is they, the outcasts, in fact have it the roughest in life, at least school life. I mean how would you like being made fun of all day, having no real friends to confide in? I’ll tell you I really wouldn’t like it, and after all the school shootings that have happened I still don’t.
Take Columbine Colorado’s shooting for example. The two that were involved in it were teased and taunted until they snapped. Many teachers and student ended up dead, and all of the others emotionally scared for life. Why can’t we do away with labels and accept one another no matter what goes on at home. Do you seriously want another Columbine to happen? Because it could, at any given time, now I’m not saying you have to like everyone, just respect them and quit the useless bashing and teasing. The world would be a much better place…and so would life as a teenager.
