The Candle

Last and lonely
New and unused

Then come the lies
The candle is lit

For the hatred and deceit
It burns slowly

Insufferable pain
Melted wax dripping

Thieves, thugs
The flames are intense

Tears of the innocent
The candle is shrinking

Murderers, death
The last candle is spent

Leaving the world
In utter darkness
