A.N. Hello folks. I’m very sorry for not updating. My mom wouldn’t let me go on the computer, because finals week was approaching. She wanted me to study. Well, here’s the 2nd chapter.

After a quiet dinner of delicious pizza oozing with tomato sauce and savory cheese, Melenia went to her room. Locking the door, she crawls under her bed. It was dusty and grimy, when she than saw it. A wooden box, decorated colorfully collecting a pool of dust.

Reaching in she grabbed the box, and slides it slowly toward her. Opening the cool smooth oak lid embedded with lines, and scratches, worn with use. Melenia peered inside to see the treasures it contain within… Several old journals, precious memory laced items before the event, and another journal slightly new. This she took out. Harshly she shoved the box back into the depths underneath her bed. Taking a pen she flipped the journal open to a blank page.

“ Dear diary,

How are you doing? Me, I’m fine. That’s a lie. I had another nightmare. I’m scared to sleep. I had so little sleep. Everything seems so…I don’t know. I feel like I’m trapped in some king of thing with no air. I’m in a place of nothingness. Time just swirls bye me. The invisible air it just envelops me till, I want to scream. I want to cry, but I cannot. I want to kill myself, but I have no guts. I fear for my state of mind. I fear it will soon be insanity. Or am I insane already? My friends are so good. As much as we’re close, they do no know everything about me. Perhaps they know nothing about me. How I suffer, how the pain wraps around me.

That’s my fault. I shut everyone away from me. Even my family, my sister…they know nothing about my sleepless night where I pace, write, and fret way into the night and into the early mornings. My nightmares that take a hold f me. I want to tell, but no. I can’t burden them with my problems. They think I’m innocent. I’m not. I want to cry, for all the knowledge I possess. I was half-managing before the event. In fact I rid myself of this craze. 7 months to fight this mental battle. I won. The damn event had taken it, and thrust me into another tiring mental battle without fail. Now, I’m barely making it. I have dark circles underneath my eyes, and still they do not notice.

My friends. Altmint…short and a bit round in the belly. Brown hair that falls into his eye, shading his wonderful green eyes that sparks in frustration when we call him Altmint. Sweet Purtaina with shiny red curly hair and brilliant blue eyes showing her intelligence. Oh and Kevris. Tall and lanky with mesmerizing brown goldish eyes, twinkling whenever he sets a prank or joke. The wonderful smile, and …

They’re too good. I don’t think I could dump my problems on them. Oh, I’m hurting them just by being insane. I shan’t write more.

Melenia”

Melenia signed her name with flourish, slammed the journal shut, and threw the pen and vile book back under her bed in disgust. She would have burn the damn thing in the crackling fire laughing, expect it held too much and what if the other got a hold of the parts that didn’t burn. Shaking her head furiously, she gently picked a pencil from her desk, open a yellow notebook, writing a poem to settle herself.

“Round the clock-wise spins,

Times a circling through.

When the hand,

Reach its tick.

Beware the hour,

For what’s to come.

The ticking sound

Will be heard.

A secret they contain,

In their ticking way.

The hour of sin

Will come to pass.

The wrong been done,

There’d be no escape.

Round the clock-wise spin,

Times a circling through.

Careful of the hand,

And be war of its tick.”

Melenia frown. This wasn’t like what she usually writes. She had a bad feeling about it though.

Dream World

She was standing in a pitch-black forest. The only thing she could see were shadows crawling on the floor circling her, but never touching her. Melenia ran trying to escape as the shadows stop and rush toward her. When she saw a small cave ahead. She duck in desperate for a bit of shelter.

To her horror she saw six bodies covered in blood, flowing into a never-ending stream. The bodies amazingly staggered up one by one. The first one. Looking well into the deep brown eyes, and shoulder length auburn hair, she froze. It was her mom. One by one she look into all of their faces. Mom, dad, grandma, aunt, brother, and the last one she couldn’t face.

Forcing herself to she saw a girl with long red hair, a and beautiful brown eyes which were glinting with something different. It was, it was… oh dear, a startling image of herself, it was her sister Rillie. Suddenly, they crowded around her.

It’s your fault, all your fault.’

No, it’s not. I took nine bullets for you.” She cried desperately.

It’s your fault.”

I tried…” Melenia tried to speaking against the tumult sounding louder and louder. She ran, doing the only thing she could do.

Bam’ Melenia ran into someone.

Hello.” The figure clouded in shadowy illusions said.

Who, who are you?” she stammered.

Oh, you know who?” the figure chuckled. Melenia heard a soft, roughish, girly voice.

Who? I don’t know.”

The figure step into light. “Why my dear, I’m your other half. I’m watching you. You know you are a liar.” She watch her other self twirl a lock of hair.

You did. I t was all your fault?”

I’m sorry what did you said?” She squeaked.

Oh, it’s your fault.”

Is not.” She replied weakly.

Oh, but it is. I’m your other half. Part of you, I know.”

But, but it can’t be.” Melenia whispered.

Oh, but it is.” Melenia heard the high evil laugh…

Melenia woke up sweating profusely.

“Not again” She groaned.

In the kitchen

‘Rustle, rustle’ Kevris woke up. Peering at the clock, he saw it was 2:16 AM. Kevris tried to go back to sleep when that noise started again. ‘Rustle, rustle’ Kevris’ eyes popped open immediately. Cursing he dug a hole and bury his head beneath is pillow. ‘Rustle, rustle.’

“Damn it. I’m gonna kill whoever is up this late.” Getting up he follow the source of the noise to the kitchen. A person was sitting at the table.

“Hello, Kevris. Why are you up so late?”
