What has happened to our land?
Why does our grain turn into sand?

Why does our water turn to blood,
And why does the rain begin to flood?

What happened to condemn us so?
We didn't know! We didn't know!

Why must we suffer for our faults?
Why must the sugars turn to salts?

What did we do? To earn such pain?
Why do you think us a stain?

What happened to 'my chosen ones'?
When did your plowshares turn to guns?

We didn't know, and so we swear!
Could remorse bring us good fare?

We didn't mean to cause you grief!
And now we wish to bring relief!

Can you not see, we wish to repent?
And cannot a moment be lent?

Please! Hear our confession!
Please, milord! We learnt the lesson!

Surely you can see our woe!
Please don't cast us to the snow!

Please don't cast us all away!
Please! Give us one more day!
