01

I find it sad when I

(when you)

seem to be a mile instead of

inches away when I

(when we)

touch a littlecloser.

can't get what we want

(enough).

02

truly that down-turned smile

in silence

in s.l.i.p.s. of

(what I believe is brandy)

our fingers

(perhaps vodka)

mudslide

(mixed drinks)

at 1:12 a.m.

03

and we are drunk (on each other)

and we are dirty (not yet showered)

and we are we are wet with newness

(slip slip slip slip lips slip)

04

blindclosed eyes

to feel your way

through the clear lack of moonlight

(no sparkly romance to dull whispers)

and the blank look of lamplight

shines mediocre by slatted shades.

05

we'll continue yet

for three hours and twenty seven minutes

melting in stages (warm-smile-flutter-kiss)

and then losing consciousness (sometime around 5:15).

06

we are silent for four mornings-and-a-half.

and then you touch with

(what I hope is)

a littlemore

possession-obsession.

07

I smile at this wanting in us (in me)

maybe this is what the morning after

is really like (love).
