I close my eyes, drifting off to sleep

I slip away into a dream

One I’ve had so many times before

I find myself in a room

I cannot see you

But I know your there

Because I sense your presence

I feel your arms around me

Wrapping me in a warm embrace

Saving me from my fears

Protecting me from a withered soul

I’m crying inside, not letting you see

But you know something is wrong

You whisper something in my ear

I cannot hear you, but I know what you say

You tell me everything is okay

That you’ll never let me go

Tear rolls down my cheek

I turn to look at you, but you’re gone

Once again I find myself lying in bed

With nothing but the street light glow
