Gentle Slumber
Gentle slumber, peaceful night
No fear or danger left in sight
All the world is sleeping tight
As dreams awake in shadow
Earth is lying quiet and still
Excepting gentle cricket's trill
Curtains drawn across the sill
As dreams awake in shadow
Gentle light of moon and star
Mother's blessings, reaching far
And no matter where in the dark you are
Dreams awake in shadow
