Sometimes we wish to be remembered the way we were, rather have people see us old when we pass. This is just one perspective. R+R

Young at heart
by fabian cortez
I stare at a reflection
Yet I don't truly see
As steam builds
On a bathroom
Mirror
I block my view
Age takes a toll
Yet I am young
At heart
How sporting
I once was
But my children
Now are grown
Yet still I feel
Young in spirit
Though I know
I'll soon be
Gone
You'll all crowd
Around me think
He lived a good
Long life
See me old
Then say so
How cuts
Deep as a knife
So I'd rather
Be with others
Who I don't really
Know
Please remember
Me as younger
You don't
Need to see
Me go
