The Writing On The Wall

Crumby, cracking
Age old concrete,
Faded red, dusty
Old bricks,
Pockmarked bullet holes,
Deep scars- burrowed deep,
Foot long knife gouges
In criss-crossing asymmetry,
Deep crimson stains,
Muddy handprints,
Neon graffiti
Faded with time;
Cartoon graphics-
Amidst jaded rhyme.

Footsteps
Grow loud
Then-
Fade away…

People no longer stop, to see,
What’s written on- that wall.
