Maxwell: Wow, it’s a Rath/Momiji story …I forgot I even had this one. But, I guess since I have it I can post it. I own all except the following: Momiji. Only him? Damn, this must go pretty far back. Anyhow, under this I’ll put the symbols and their meanings…

Suppi: This is the cute and glompable Momiji. Not sexy and fuckable (though he still is when he’s younger.) So don’t except this to be something like our R.P.’s, ‘kay?

‘…’-Thoughts (Obviously.)

“…” -Speaking. (Obviously.)

Oh, and I’m probably not going to give complete descriptions until later. If that is a problem, sue me.

In Situations Like These…

Chapter One

A group of orphans ran swiftly down the dark street. Yells could be heard from the guards chasing them. “Get back here you damn brats!” One of them shouted. “Hurry! Get them before they get away!”

One of the orphans, a boy with forest green hair and dull hazel eyes, came up from behind on worn skates. Thinking he’d outwit the guards, he turned a sharp corner and knocked right into someone. Moments after, the voices of the guards could be heard.

“Oh no!” The boy cried. “My skate broke!”

The figure he knocked over now stood. They brushed themselves off and stepped into the light. “Well if you were paying attention that wouldn’t have happened.”

The boy looked up. “I’m so sorry. I didn’t-” His heart paused for a brief moment. “I-uh…I’m well…” He uttered out. He couldn’t help but stare. With sun-kissed skin and hair and eyes the color of gold, he couldn’t help but notice the man he ran into was… “Breathtaking.” He whispered.

“Excuse me?” The man asked. Before he could get an answer, a guard spotted them. “Come here.” He ordered. The boy got up and was pulled into the man. “Have you ever been kissed?” He asked.

“Have I wha-” The boy started.

Before he knew it, the man kissed him. He tongue slid over the teens lips, demanding entrance. The boy opened his mouth for air but was greeted by a wet, warm object. He didn’t fight back; instead he let his tongue dance with its new partner. (Damn I can get sappy…)

“I had seen two people over here.” The guard began. He turned the corner to find the two “lovers.” The guard paled. “Never mind.”

As soon as he had left, the man broke away from the teen. “You did well.” He complimented. “You know exactly what you want.”

“Um…thanks.” He blushed. “I don’t think I ever got your name though.”

“It’s Rath.” The man replied.

The teen smiled brightly. “I’m Momiji. Nice to meet you!”

Rath smiled warmly (like the pedophile he is…). “The pleasure is all mine.” He looked over at the sunset and inhaled deeply. “Well, it was nice meeting you.” He said. “I hope fate brings us together again.” He said as he gently ran his hand over Momiji’s cheek. He pulled his hand back to find his slightly pale skin dark with dirt. “Maybe fate is on my good side today.” He mumbled.

“Nandayo?” Momiji asked. He cocked his head to the right.

“Come on.” He said, grabbing Momiji by the wrist. “Let’s get going.”

“What?!” Momiji fretted. “Where are we going? Am I in trouble?!”

“My place.” Rath told him. “You’re filthy.”

“But my skates-” Momiji said before tripping into Rath. “…sorry.” He apologized. ‘I feel dizzy…’ He thought to himself. His eyes grew heavy. “Just let me…” Suddenly he blacked out.

Rath caught the boy. “I still got it.” He said with a snicker.

----Flashes of light. A body lay in a pool of blood. A crying ookami. A broken promise.--

“Hey. It’s awake.”

Momiji opened his eyes to see two faces in his own. He blinked three times. “Hi.” He said.

“It can talk!” A girl with violet hair and eyes exclaimed. “Isn’t he adorable?!” She squeaked. “Can we keep him?!”

“Hn.” A boy with blonde hair replied. He brushed his bangs out of his face. “He’ll just take up space. I don’t see why Rath-sama saved a human.” He muttered as he walked away.

“You’re just jealous!” The girl yelled after him. She turned back to Momiji. “Don’t mind Hiroshi, he’s always like this.” She leaned in and whispered. “Especially with cuties like you around.” She grinned. “You got a name to go with that pretty face?”

“It’s Momiji.” He told her. “My name is Momiji.”

“Hi there Momiji.” She cooed at him. “My name is Shana. And this is Crescent.” She said as she motioned to another teen that had just entered the room. “Say hi Crescent.”

Crescent, as he was called, was a tall and well-built teenager (he doesn’t have HUGE muscles, but he ain’t no skinny white boy either.) His hair went to the nape of his neck and spiked out every which way. (Think of Zero before they cut it all off.) One part was pure silver while the rest was jet black. “Hn.” He grunted, simply blowing her off. “Get out of my room.” He ordered.

“Rath-sama said he had to stay in here!” She wined.

“Who said I was talking to him?” Crescent asked with a smirk as he removed his shirt.

Shana huffed before getting up. “See you later cutie.” She said, waving at Momiji.

“You think I’m cute?” Crescent asked sarcastically. “Oh, I feel faint.”

“Who said I was talking to you?” She asked with a scowl.

“The blush that covered your cheeks.” He responded.

“Oh, shut up Crescent!” She yelled before leaving the room, slamming the door behind her.

The silence was nerve-wreaking. Momiji sat in the uncomfortable silence for a moment before turning to Crescent. “Thanks for letting me stay in your room.” He said gently.

“Not like I get a say in the matter.” Crescent muttered.

“What?” Momiji asked. He cocked his head to the right, his brow slightly furrowed.

“I said…” Crescent began. He turned to Momiji and completely froze. ‘How can someone look so serious and innocent at once?’ He asked himself. “Never mind.” He once again muttered. He walked over to the bedside and picked up his watch.

“Wow! Is that real?!” Momiji suddenly shouted.

Confused, Crescent looked down at the watch. “Yeah. You can-” He began.

Momiji stopped him when he reached out and touched his stomach. Next to his bellybutton, was a mark shaped like a crescent moon. He rubbed it intrepidly.

Crescent felt an ache in between his legs. He quickly grabbed Momiji’s wrist, causing the boy to stop. “Don’t…do that.” He warned.

“Okay…” Momiji whispered. “Is it a tattoo?” He asked. “Is it real?”

Crescent lost himself in Momiji’s eyes once again. He shook his head. “No. It’s a…yeah. It’s a tattoo.” He said. He grabbed a t-shirt off the end of the bed and pulled it over his head. “Come on. I’ll show you to the bathhouse.”

“Bathhouse?” Momiji asked.

--

Shana had Momiji in the bath for over an hour. But, by the time he emerged, they could barely recognize him. His dark green hair was now the color of limes. His dirt colored skin was now a light olive. And his eyes, which once looked like a dull brown, were now a bright hazelnut color.

“Well?” Shana asked. “What do you think? Did I out do myself or what?”

Rath caught Crescent staring, his cheeks slightly red. “Yes, you did an excellent job, Shana.” Rath replied with a grin. “Wouldn’t you agree Crescent?”

Crescent looked over, sending a very dirty look. “Hn,” was his only reply.

Momiji fingered at the sleeves of his white kimono. “Thank you.” He whispered. “Um…I was wondering, do you-” He was stopped by his growling stomach. “You wouldn’t happen to have something to eat by any chance, would you?”

Rath turned to Shana and Hiroshi. “You two, show him to the kitchen.” He ordered.

“Yes Rath-sama.” They replied. Shana took Momiji’s hand and led him out of the room.

“Like what you see?” Rath asked casually. “I have to admit, he is pretty hot.”

“I’ve seen better.” Crescent replied. His voice fell to a whisper. “Much better.”

“And his childlike demeanor, so innocent, so familiar.” Rath began. “Doesn’t it remind you of someone? But who?” He asked sarcastically.

Crescent gritted his teeth. “Don’t you dare speak of him. You have no right to even think about him!” Crescent yelled. His body started to shake with sobs. “You don’t…you…”

Rath came up behind Crescent. He tilted the teenager’s chin up with two of his fingers while whispering into his ear. “Hurts, doesn’t it?” He pulled away and began leaving the room. “Don’t embarrass yourself. Clean up and come eat.” Rath ordered before leaving.

--

Shana yawned and looked up at the clock. “Wow. I haven’t been up this late in ages.” She stood and stretched. “Mm…good-night.”

“Good-night.” Rath said. He looked at Hiro. “You should go to bed as well.”

Hiroshi nodded. “Good-night Rath-sama.” He said with a bow, before exiting the room and heading upstairs.

Momiji looked around questioningly. “What about me?” He asked. “Where should I sleep?”

Rath smiled. “Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten about you.” Rath said as he motioned for Momiji to follow. “You’ll be staying in Crescent’s room.”

“Okay.” Momiji simply replied. “Is he in there?”

“I doubt it.” Rath told him. He looked over curiously. “Why?”

“No reason.” Momiji said. “I just thought…never mind.”

Rath opened the door and stepped in. He noticed the open window. “He’s out right now, but he should return by tonight…maybe.” He turned to Momiji. “Just get some rest now.” He looked at the bed. ‘It seems he knew ahead of time. No wonder he skipped out on dinner.’ He thought to himself as he looked at the fresh bed linens. “Good-night, Momiji-kun.”

“Good-night.” Momiji replied. He looked around the room. It seemed so barren now, since he was alone. He didn’t really notice earlier. There was a bed, a side table, a computer, and a chair. There was nothing out of the ordinary it seemed. “How sad…it’s so lonely.” He said out loud as he sat on the bed. He looked over and seen a picture on the small table. ‘A picture?’ He asked himself. He picked it up and examined it closely.

In the picture, there were two boys. The first easily stood out as Crescent. He was lying back in the arms of another boy, a younger teenager. He had snow-white hair to match his skin. It stood out nicely against his blood red orbs. His arms hung limp over Crescents’ chest as he grabbed the hem of his black shirt, pulling it up to expose Crescent’s bellybutton and the same mark Momiji had seen earlier. Crescent held the boy around the wrist, not allowing him to lift the shirt any higher. The younger boy was smiling right into the camera while Crescent looked away, blushing. If you looked close enough, you would see that Crescent was actually smiling. (And you all thought he couldn’t do it…)

Momiji set the picture down before lying back on the bed. He rolled to his side and slowly fell asleep.

About an hour later, a figure appeared in the open window. The moonlight hit the figure on the face, showing it to be Crescent, his green eyes shining dangerously. He stepped in silently and made his way over to the bed. He couldn’t help but stare at Momiji’s sleeping form. The young teen looked innocent once again.

‘Stupid brat.’ He thought to himself. He sat on the edge, brushing a few strands of stray hair from Momiji’s forehead. ‘Why do brats like you always come into my life?’

-End chapter one-

Maxwell: Yeah, the ending is a cliffhanger. Sue me. If I continued, it would take me a long time to update. Why? Because the next chapter is going to be a flashback kind of thing, and it would’ve thrown me completely off if I keep going with it. I should have this updated before any of the others, so that’s something you should look forward too. Oh, and when I said it was a Rath/Momiji fic, I’m pretty sure it’s still going that way, just some implied with Crescent and what-not…don’t expect any miracles.
