A different kind of hero
Some see every day
In a purple suit
To teach kids what's okay.
He doesn't rescue kitties
From trees with ladders tall
Instead he teaches children
To give love and peace to all.
He taught me "please" and "thank you"
And how to brush my teeth.
He taught me about feelings
And how to dance and stomp my feet.
He taught me to express myself
Without making others cry.
He taught me how to smile
And make others join in, too.
He taught me shapes and colors
And how to count to ten.
He taught me "A" to "Z"
And what orders they go in.
He taught me to play well with others
Even my siblings now and then.
He taught me how to sing
About others near and far.
Some people have a hero-
Barney, you are mine.
