I was lost
I was hurting
I couldn’t find my way
there was nowhere for me to turn
nothing that I could do to stop...
to stop the flood
to fill the empty void

I was lost
simple as that
I couldn’t find my way to you
couldn’t find my way...anywhere
and the void was still there
empty and waiting
waiting for what?
I didn’t know, couldn’t fathom
I tried everything...
everything that I could think of
but nothing worked
nothing filled it

One year ago...
Two after this July
I found you
and you...
you helped me
lifted me up
filled the void
released my soul from the prison it’d been held in
the prison that had held it captive for so long

And it was wonderous!
That feeling
that feeling that I had when I found you
it was...
it was painful, pleasurably, everything in between!
it was...a rush
a rush, and a flash, and a whirlwind of wonders!

I couldn’t breath in that moment
that moment when I found you
I couldn’t breath, and...
and it didn’t scare me
it didn’t scare me, because I loved it
I loved it, and relished it, and-
and I’ll never forget it!

That day when I found you
when I found my way
when I was no longer lost-no longer wandering

because I found you
and you’re always with me
always there
and...and I know you’ll never leave me
I know...
I know, and I love it
