drawing pictures of darkness and of light

sketching the tips when wings take their flight

--

soar above the haze, o lady of the free

fly past the boundaries of trapped humanity

live our children’s dreams, and dance amidst the stars

beyond memory and pain – beyond our jagged scars

--

painting pictures of darkness and of light

shading the grey when wings take their flight

--

bask in sunlight’s rays, o lady of the pure

grace us with the beauty no cloud would dare obscure

spread your majestic wings and let us begin to dream

of an imagination that holds more power than it seems

--

carving statues of darkness and of light

of the serenity of the goddess of the night

I wanted to return to my old style - like the way 'Dreamweaver' and such was written. I think it's one stanza too short, so, given time, I will probably come back and add one. Good-night.
