reflect

I got
caught in the middle
of sticky waves as the slimy shine of liberal gloss on
hundreds of luscious lips reflected off the display windows

tried to look down and focus on the bottom of that woman’s tube
which kept hitching up to reveal the
bold black bashful tattoo
of a butterfly

and then my
eyes strayed further down to look at her
old-fashioned pristine new platforms and I realized that
she wore thousands of shoes at the same time, flip-clop-patter-tap together

turned my spinning head and watched the mannequin models modeling multiply
more, more, more as their glass enclosure mirrored their companions
behind the panels at the opposite side and just in
front of them there were more.

no rhythm, only speed
reflecting off me, rushing towards me

forward-backward-up-down-side-and-the-other-side
and even more.
