In the Dark

In the clutch of the darkness

In the arms of the one who could care

Of the one who could make you

Who could easily break you

Who would touch you in ways no one else would dare

In the blare of the light

You just feel so right

With the softness of his lips

The gentle curves of her hips

The lonliness can't touch you

Not in your own little world

The room of darkness

With walls closing in

You're afriad to be alone

You're afraid to be with him

Terrified to need

Still more not to have

She speaks only truth to you

Somehow it makes you feel so sad

You know there's a reason

For such an irrational fear

The fear to not have what never was near

You can't touch this reason

It's still out of reach

But you can see it

You can taste it

All but touch it's purity breech

Alone in the dark--

You sob in dispair

Overwhelmed

So alone

Your defenses collapsing

Suddenly safe

In the soft folds of his clothes

You tremble in his arms

Warm tears trail down your face

The darkness can't touch you

Secure in his arms

He only matters

You're safe with him...

And your eyes flicker shut

As the lights slowly dim

-End-
