Her name is has to be the best...
Connie sat in her darkened personal space, which was only illuminated by an antique lamp on her bedside. Her mother said it would give her room a vintage look. Connie took out a paper from her binder, in which her father said was the perfect binder when he bought it for her, Connie reached for her mechnical pencil that her brother bought for her because is was "heavy duty".
Also, Connie grabbed a math book from her shelf and opened it. The math teacher thoguht it was best for her, since she was the best in the class.
Best.
Connie has to be the best.
It wasn't an option, really. When Connie did something, she had to do it 110 percent, just like her big strong father. When Connie messes up, she sees her father mad, and he whips her. Her mother and brother stands there with an emotionless face platered on.
Afterwards, her mother would tuck her in and have a talk with her. She told her how dissapointed she was in Connie and that she didn't like her attitude. Then, her brother would come in. He wouldn't say anything, but just sit there and rub her back. In a way, it was like saying, "It's going to be alright."
So, Connie does her best not to be whipped, or dissapointed in, or pitied. Connie soon foudn out that if she was perfect, than her family would be happy.
Now everyday she would go straight home after school and do her homework. She took a shower at six-thirty, and went to bed at nine. She wakes up at five-fifty exact and takes a shower. She then makes herself and her family breakfast. After that, she walks to school.
You might think that Connie's friends might hate her, but they don't.
You see, Connie doesn't have any friends.
She doesn't want them because they are going to side track her from her duties.
Connie needed to be the best. No, it wasn't even an option. She had to be the best.
To be perfect.
She is so precise at everything and her timing is phenominal.
Connie is like a robot. Her future set and everything is in order.
She has no friends, her family barely notices her until report card time comes, and her relatives live far away.
Connie is lonely.
..but she has to be the best.
The very best.
...and she is only ten.
Family, or people who are close like family, are the only ones that can make you cry.
